Guest giuliano[at]prolim.com.br
V/A - Dimitri's Dat Bag Artist: Various Title: Dimitri's Dat Bag Label: TIP World Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 07'01" Tranan : Cluedo 02. 05'46" GMS : The Power 03. 07'49" Talamasca : Tribalistic 04. 07'42" The Good The Bad And The Ugly : La Caixa 05. 08'42" Logic Bomb : Glitter 06. 07'43" Altom : Desperado 07. 08'22" The Good The Bad And The Ugly : Pura Vida 08. 08'36" The Antidote : Disco Bumming 09. 06'52" GMS : Zombi Stomp Review: 1 - Tranan - Cluedo: First, who is this guy ? anybody know ? well... its start the compilation with a good track.... less bmp in that ...good samples..... groove ....some melody in that..... for me its good in a set beggining. 2 - Gms - The Power.. Now we have more bpm in that. Its GMS as usual. But a litle difference.... we got some tb303 sounds in that. Dance Floor Track........ for the morning... the title can describe the track.... 3 - Talamasca - Tribalistic - Cedric style ..... morning track again appears on it !! Usual samples... as talamasca tracks... I can say its a club track......... uhhmm.. i like it ... but .... 4 - The Good The Bad & The Ugly - La Caixa - It kind of a dance floor track , lots of skraches and scary sounds ...this track describes this new project.... its not my kind of sound at all.... but still good.... 5 - Logic Bomb - Glitter: Logic Bomb Style i can say .... Nothing so diferent here.... 6 - Altom - Desperado: Im in work now... hehehe...i dont remeber that track.... but i think its good... hehhe.. 7 - The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Pura Vida - Dimitri project appears on the album again. Here we got a good track. It start with a sweet melodie (i think, hehehe) and then get the project style again. 8 - Antidote - Disco Bumming: funky and futuristic, it builds into a full-power outdoor party monster, with smooth acid, ethereal melody and techy high. 9 - GMS - Zombi Stomp - Here we have original GMS style...... I like this one..... Less bmp then usual.... good keyboard sounds.... Good track at all i think ! :-)) Well... thats a good disk... if u find it ... buy it ! It deserve ! Tip World style .... good compilation ! Lets wait for the next Tip World Compilation.
lurk
Tranan is one of the guys from Logic Bomb ) this is one of the best compilations of the year... tracks 1, 3,4 and 7 rock, and the others aren't bad either... proper outdoor party music, I give it 8/10 =o)
Guest Goa Spirit
In my opinion this is better than assasi- nations... Dimitri knows his stuff and this one is worth every penny.... Great outdoor music... Isn't that what goa/ psy is all about?..... i personally loved this one.,. maybe not that good for home listening.. but amazing dance floor stuff... 9/10 ,. peace
Guest [Anonymous]
Zombi stomp... this guys from GMS really makes me think... everbody reply "GMS always same the same" "they should experiment just a little"... Who gives a fuck if its good or sounds diferent or not... it works! Banzi & Riktam just keep doing good stuff and makes everybody dance in parties... Tranan, talamasca, antidote the best ones... 7/10.
Guest [Anonymous]
Not the best stuff i heard.... everybody does stuff like this.. nothing new.
Guest DJ Psy604
I have the sampler EP taken from Dimitri's DAT bag. Only track 1, 3, 9 are on it. All the tracks are great, especially 3 and 9, I think track 1 is missing something, I would never play that track on a party, but it is not bad!!! I would say: buy this stuff BTW tranan is Jonas Pettersson
Guest [Anonymous]
tranan also has a track in TIP movers and groovers called MOODY (also released somewhere else i cannot remember) and the track is perfect
Guest Flying Kundalini
killer comp from TipWorld, one of the best this year, I've been starting my sets with Pura Vida since I got this. Best tracks - all of them! (except maybe the GMS by numbers 2&9) 9/10 BomS
Guest psy2kaves[at]yahoo[dot]com
I think this is a strong comp. , it has the TIP sound so I can't wait to get my ears on the assasi-nations album!! luv the easy rider sample!!
Guest SpuTeR
One of the best compilations !!
Guest frayjay[at]hotmail[dot]com
tranan's track is really nice, groovy, funky and with a nice melody nearer the end, perfect morning tune.... logic bomb tune also kicks ass, lots and lots of delicate sounds and powerful bass! But who could expect different from those who are arguable the best psy group of the moment?
Guest asshopper
GMS trackers ROCK! The Antidote is pretty good 2!
Guest SYN
Very nice compilation, as I expected from the most vigorous psytrance label. Restores my faith in the scene once again.
Guest mike1980[at]hotmail[dot]com
This CD rocks!! ZOMBI STOMP is the BEST track period. I like it all except track 7 dosn't seem to flow good. DISCO BOMBING is catchy.
Guest iNFiNiTi500
Its nice but not kewl. GMS exploit our ears again to their old rampant noise skills but simply forget that they have the ability to remix or create miles better stuff (track 1 and 3 on Assasi-nations for example). All-star side project Good, Bad & Ugly fails to sound neighter original nor exceptional. Tranan and Altom (superb start but then falls flat) have efficient 3Dvision style rhytms but less else. Talamasca, Logic Bomb and Antidote provide the more melodic stuff and Disco Bumming gets the award for best use of an old school synth (at 5:10). So, a mixed (DAT) bag IMO which could have used a few more highlights to rank it as truly essential. Get Assasi-nations instead; same artists, no Good,Bad & Ugly and weirder trax. 7/10. Guest Xymaths
Yeah nice selection again by the TIP Maestros, and if you have ever had the fortunate luck of seeing the mullethead in action you will know that Dimitri takes very special care in selecting the ripest tunes for his aural assult! Every track a winner esp The good the bad and the ugly-"nah Ive too many problems with the booze"!!
Guest pAYNE
is that this comp is really quite boring. All the songs are alike and nothing too special to get me going. First track perhaps the best but something is missing here, most certainly. 4/
Guest Roopak
to everyone who disses this album- TRY LISTENING TO THIS AT A HIGH VOLUME!!!! I never thought it was anything less than good but I never really appreciated the beauty of this comp till I heard it loud...
Guest [Anonymous]
I was a bit disappointed by this - maybe my expectations were too high because it is Tip World, .....but - too many tracks lack character and just sound like paint by numbers party fodder. 1, 4, 5, 7 are about all I could recommend. Logic Bomb I love and this is a good track but still in their usual style - waiting to see how they will grow - of the newer tracks by them, Frequent Flyers and Earth Orbit sound much better than Glitter to my ears. The G, B, and U tracks are fun - I think they had a good time making them - Pura Vida uses Easy Rider samples and the chimes, singing bowl and orchestral swells in that track are from the soundtrack to the movie "Baraka" Tranan starts with a great samples and some power but doesn't really go anywhere the way his track "Moody" did. The rest are forgettable. 5/10, maybe it will grow on me.
Guest -Suamipoeka-
well.. the altom track is best, nice soft but still hard sounds..? great atmosphere with driving bassline and the greatest pounding kickdrum I´ve heard.. And oh yes, the andidote track is great too.. it got this funky twist.. LB´s Glitter is also very deep-pounding track whit nice FX´s, almost 3d-sounds.. u know.. Not many melodies on this comp. but works well on parties and, as said above, maximun volume..
Guest Jason - Los Angeles, CA
I can't believe people say same old GMS stuff?? This CD kicks ass. The GMS tracks are bas ass, especially Zombie stomp. Pretty sick and twisted track. My favorite is the Tranan track. Wow Logic Bomb is amazing. You know when you hear that special song at a party that just really grabs your attention, you find out what it is and buy the CD only for that song, you take it home and not every song is that great, but one or two stand out? Well, this is a CD full of those songs. Great mix of dancefloor greatness hear. Assasi:Nations, Dimitri, and the Mystery of the Thirteen Crystal Skulls?? Man, Tip is on a roll. Keep em coming. GMS RULES.

Guest phase418[at]hotmail[dot]com
Dimitri is the king of professional psy-trance DJs, as anyone who has seen him close a party with his late morning set will agree. His personal DAT bag contains the cutting razor edge of psychedelic sounds, unheard, unreleased mindbending tracks. He is well hooked-up by the TIP crew and other leading psy-trance makers. This album is by far the most played by DJs in Goa, India in the 2002 season. At most parties, in the late morning and afternoon time, you can hear EVERY TRACK on this disc played by the various DJs in random order. In the biggest party of the season, Domino(UK) played a remix of Cluedo and the CD version of Zombi Stomp. It is hard, new-skool morning music that makes people shake their asses and lose their mind at the same time. This is the new direction, like it or not. Track 3 and 6 aren't up to par with the other picks, so I'll say(8.5/10) bom shankar!
Guest phase418[at]hotmail[dot]com
if you want to see a picture of Dimitri at work, inflicting serious sonic DAT damage on the minds of party people...on this site go under "Parties" then "Party Reviews" and then "Japan". Guest Goa Spirit
an update on my previous review, this album has a lot of killer tracks... tranan, gms - zombi stomp, and the 2 gbu tracks kick ass and take names.. there are some mediocre tracks here though and talamasca, the power are not very good. the rest are decent but not killer.,.. so to give a new rating, i would rae 8.5/10... btw.. phase418, yes this album has taken goa by storm, just like i said it would in my last review about 4 months ago... anyways good to see a fellow goa-head who actually listens and recognizes the tracks played at the parties there... anywayz peace.....
