tbe
V/A - Distance To Goa 9 Artist: Various Title: Distance To Goa 9 Label: Distance Date: 2000 Track listing: CD 1 01. 10'44" Hallucinogen : Mi Loony Um 02. 06'09" Shakta And In R Voice : Present Moment 03. 08'49" Shiva Shandra : Creature (Rmx) 04. 08'10" Etnica : Simulate The Future 05. 09'28" Chakra Feat Liquid Metal : Resurrection 06. 06'42" Manmademan : In Society 07. 05'12" NTSX : Wicked 08. 07'51" Trickster : Turquoise Mood 09. 08'51" Younger Brother : Evil And Harm CD 2 01. 10'43" Magnat : Saga 02. 06'09" Slide : Closure 03. 08'49" Genetic : Electric Showdown 04. 08'10" Man With No Name : Reincarnation (Tripster Rmx) 05. 09'28" Sound Check : Mind Drive 06. 06'42" Eat Static : Critical Mass 07. 05'12" NTSX : Dreamshot 08. 00'07" In Sect : Slammer 09. 07'44" Man With No Name : Teleport (2000 Rmx) 10. 08'45" Eternal Basement : Taking Place In You Review: This compilation begins with the famous "mi-loony-um!" from Hallucinogen.....you certainly already know this fantastic track, nothing else to say. Then a very good track from Shakta and a russian project "In R-Voice"...good collaboration. Track 3 come from the new Shiva Shandra's album (Auricular)..:-) Track 4 is an acid Etnica track. Then a track from Chakra featuring Liquid Metal. This track begins like a Delta track, very dark and powerfull then a second part very melodic but with the sound from nowaday..I Like it ! Track 6 is a ManMadeMan track, nice but nothing special, Track 7 is NTSX, too "commercial trance" for me. Then Trickster which is Tristan and D.Trevor for Green Nuns. The last track from this CD is a beautiful ambient track produced by Simon Postford and Process. This track is taken from Twisted "Demented" compilation, as track 1 and track 8 ! >-o Now, CD2, mixed by ManWithNoName. BEWARE this CD is TechnoTrance...you have been warned... First track is Magnat ( = Eternal Basement ) , an boring track for me...I hate this equalization !!! Then a Slide track, as bad as a UX track ;-) . Then Genetic, same style as usual..you like or not, it works for me. Next track is an Avi & Dino Psaras remix from a MWNN's track...a little bit strange..Then a Sound Check track (Ferry Corsten..stop grinding your teeth ! ). Next track is Eat Static. Then Another NTSX (remember CD1..)..Hey, NTSX ! , you're welcomed to the north pole ! >-b Next is In-sect, Track 9 is the MWNN-Teleport 2000 remix. The last track come from the Eternal Basement album. So CD1 is very good except tracks 6 and 8 which are average and track 7 which is a big shit (sorry..) CD 2.....mmm.... :-o ....hhh.......maybe it was a joke, isn't it ??? Anyway I like the first CD...7,5/10..I don't rate the CD2.
akindo
I don't have this album, but I can tell you that on CD 2 there must be at least two good tracks. In Sect: Slammer is a great track. It really goes into your brain. Also, Eternal Basement: Taking Place In You is not a bad track either.
Basilisk
It sounded bad back in the day, and now it seems all right.

Guest Kindgok
Disc 2 does sound a little out of place for a series called "Distance to Goa" but if you enjoy variety within the trance genre, you won't hate it. Main gripe : With so many labels out there, swiping three tracks from the same Twisted comp seems like a cop-out. Buy Vol. 9 if you're a fan of the Distance series. If not, I'd suggest starting lower down

Guest Tchankov I.V.
Exceptionaly disappointing release. CD1 contains great track 9, some good ones (1,4,5,8) & two garbage-tracks (6,7), but those best of this CD we've already heard! CD2 is the worst thing labeled "GOA" I've ever heard. Even considering it like the experiment you may become a subject of harmful influence of commercial psy-pseudo-culture!!! If someone offers you this compilation for free - you may take it, having thought thoroughly, but don't, under any circumstances, buy it, because it'll thrash your invesment... But, there is always probability that this compilation will find someone who'll like it! =)
Setsuko
In my opinion, this compilation is not that good. The first cd has got some nice tracks .The killer 'mi-loony-um' from Simon Posford is the only good track. Track 2 and 5 are also one of my favourites. I wasted my money if i'm listning to disc two. What the f**k is this. This cd contains pure shit, the only track I like is 'mind drive' from Sound Check cause of the well built bassline and the dreamy melody. I give the compilation a psychedelic rating of 4,5/10. Keep your innerselves trance-formed.
DeathPosture
Yeah... What the hell is up with CD2?... MWNN sure isn't what he used to be... Anyway, CD1 IS as good as CD2 is bad, so screw the second cd and listen to the first... Filled with kickass tracks!... CD1: 7,3/10 CD2: Crap! Bom shankar! Guest Indigo spice
CD 1 have a couple of real hardkicking tracks! Track 4 and 5 are outstanding! But now to "the joke of the day". CD 2 ???????? Martin Freeland (MWNN), what have happend? That,s not Goa trance! I am so disappointed!
Guest kadafi
Sorry but I think this is the worst Distance comp I ever laid my ears on...THE 1ST CD contains only 2 very good trax, both made by Simon Posford: nr1 tickles my brain with funny melodies and the last does the chill with guitars, percussion and easy-going psysounds... Track 5 starts off SO good with a weird but funny sample, but has a somewhat clubby melody at the end that I don't like (What a shame! This track could have been so much better...)The NTSX track is absolutely not 'Wicked'...It's not even psytek; to me it's pure TECHNO! CD2 begins unbelievabely crappy but gets better towards the end...track 5,9&10 are OK.
Guest niels_knigge[at]ofir[dot]dk
No no no ´NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is going on here?? A double Cd with only worthy tracks (cd 1 no. 1, 5 and cd 2 no.9)!!!!!!! Do NOT buy this....
seraph
Strange compilation....First CD is good but nothing outstanding everyone says it... It has stunning tracks : MI - LOONY - UM ! , creature, ressurection, turqoise mood, evil and harm and the rest is okaaaay, I was pretty dissapointed with etnica track. Second CD is not as good but it is not bad either....It begins slow and definetely don't sound as SAGA, but it turns into something rather listenable from electric showdown and reincarnation, following with not so interesting songs to remix of teleport....All in all average distance to goa.... 7/
