Guest Globalsteez Posted January 21, 2001 Posted January 21, 2001 Synchro - Elektrik Artist: Synchro Title: Elektrik Label: Liquid Audio Soundz Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. Elektrik 02. Glitch 03. Juice 04. Induction 05. Psychedelicatessen 06. Magnetic 07. Porn ? No ! 08. Eclectic (Hectic) 09. Glitter 10. Solid State 11. Dropout 12. Sperm 13. Short Circuit Review: After thinking the world of the first Synchro album 'Science Friction' and missing out on the second one (possibly being put off by the single 'Drugs' that came out around it's time), I was recommended this over the phone by Alison at Chaos Unltd. so I thought I'd give it a go as he always at least had 'the funk' as it were. I was not let down...it's a skelper of an album, which my speakers are just gonna have to get used to hearing! (and any neighbours) The trick is to play it really fucking loud!!!!! ah-hem.. That's not to say that it's not subtle enough or has no intricacies because it has those in spades. It just rattles along in a really pleasing way. I'm not gonna even bother trying to describe each track, later reviewers can attempt to do this, i'll let you enjoy these sonic delights at your own leisure...oh the leisure of it all.. A Funky-elektrik-psychedelic-breakfest by all accords and not one which should be skipped over, as your psy-breakfest can be your most impor! tant meal of the day...eh!? Trust me on this one folks and cheers to Synchro for a fine release, enjoy! 9/10 "I think, therefore i jam..." -DJ Synchro 2001. Cheers everyone, here's to another great year of hot psytrance action! Guest [Anonymous] Posted January 24, 2001 Posted January 24, 2001 I do have Drugs, and this kiks ass overt it. Very top stuffs for funky assed viberators. Nice broken beats and deep grooves...8/10 Quote
Guest Ravemail10 Posted January 31, 2001 Posted January 31, 2001 Pretty much same as Anonymous above me. Has to be listened to carefully. 7.5/10 cause it's a little too empty. I know it's on purpose, but could we please have just a LITTLE bit more rhythm in the noises? :-) Bom! - Raven Quote
Guest Cnt97 Posted January 31, 2001 Posted January 31, 2001 Hm... This is not psytrance.. but it is very good! Lot better then his album Drugs IMHO. Fun to listen to!.. D'n'B meets psytrance meets electro meets funk... or something like that Quote
Guest smokeBuddha Posted February 9, 2001 Posted February 9, 2001 This is a very good album. Very distinct. Would love to hear Magnetic at a party. Recommended. 8/10 Quote
freak51 Posted February 21, 2001 Posted February 21, 2001 Better than 'Drugs', but not essential. 7/10. Quote
Guest yodaddy[at]antisocial[dot]com Posted March 20, 2001 Posted March 20, 2001 Would'nt try to compare it with previouse albums. Just simply enjoy some pure hardbass+acid beats all wraped with nifty minimal beats. Calling it empty is an insult! Not every good album has to be full to the rim with rythem patches Quote
Guest [Anonymous] Posted June 5, 2001 Posted June 5, 2001 very dissapointing i expected something new from Synchro ..... Quote
Guest Music Man Posted July 1, 2001 Posted July 1, 2001 Only just got a chance to listen to this one and Im glad I have. This will be in my main crate for a long time..... Can't wait to hear what is next from Synchro! I think he's one of the oldschool artists that's still on the way up. I see a few insults to his music on this forum and I'm not suprised they are 'anonymous'. Quote
seraph Posted December 19, 2001 Posted December 19, 2001 This is great album, yes it has some empty feeling to it, but hey, all things he describes there are a bit empty in their fact... cause elektrodes and magnetism are more empty things than spirtual matters.... 9/10 1 Quote
Guest deyv Posted March 29, 2002 Posted March 29, 2002 Synchro has is certainly bringing the funk to psy-trance, a move that I hope to see in more artists as they realize our varying rhythmic needs. Glitch and Solid State are great tracks that inspire and open our minds to the possibilities awaiting us and our imaginations. BTW, space is the essence of music. Peess Quote
Guest Booooink! Posted May 1, 2002 Posted May 1, 2002 Not what I expected, but very interesting never the less... Alot of break beats, more techno with psy influence (IMHO) Excellent background/listening music (Hehe)... Not really for the dancefloor though... Quote
