Guest Somerville
Bitmonx - Erdbeer Kiwi Remixes Artist: Bitmonx Title: Erdbeer Kiwi Remixes Label: Iboga Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 8'18" XV Kilist : Erdnuss Butter remix 02. 8'20" Reefer Decree : Erdbeer Kiwi remix 03. 9'44" P.O.T.S : Erdbeer Kiwi remix Review: Track 1 is nice an minimal with noises flying in and around your head over the top of a pounding kik and bass. The gated drums make the track pull in a very tight trance groove. This will sound great through a big system. Reefer Decree appear on the flip side. This has an unusual beggining especially for a trance track.A short way into the track a deep noise emits unlike some u have heard before this then gives way to a double time reefer bassline which stamps along.A very good ep for getting things started just right ,I give it 7.5 /10. Guest Mescalinium
It's about time somebody reviewed this release. On the a-side is the XV Kilist remix which has been floating around for a while now. It's a bit too straight forward, but still provides some decent, percussive thrills in the popular swiss, progressive fashion. On the b-side we have the real gem here, the Reefer Decree remix. This is Reefer's finest work yet in my opinion (including their recent track Curved Air). A short intro gives way to the trademark RD kick, but then familiar efx from the original tune find their way into the mix. Add to this an atypical breakdown and some wonderfully tweaked melodies in the final 2 minutes, and you have yourself the rare type of remix that surpasses the original. The POTS remix is pedestrian fare that manages to be completely unintersting in spite of it being a virtual facsimile of the Bitmonx version. It doesn't matter in the end: the Reefer Decree mix is the one you want. Highly recommended.
Guest Mark
The reefer decree mix sounds great in the morning hours, the melodies in the last minutes will take you head away.
Basilisk
Reefer Decree's remix is simply amazing!
Guest Nois
Quite an average EP and too average for me... XV Kilist track would be better if it was not a remix - the sounds from the original tracks are useless. Pots is the best one here, Reefer Decree is a little bit too melodic here... Variety? I miss variety in rhythm here... Overall 6.5/10 (not enough for me)
Guest Tomvcarter
3 superb remixes of one of the best minimal tracks ever, the xv kilist remix is exelent, giving it his own twisted, robotic, funky, touch. The Reefer Decree remix is very different from the origional, but is an awsome track typically reefer decree for euphoric morning moments. EXELLENT. 9.5/
