Guest Diepeveen
V/A - Eruption Artist: Various Title: Eruption Label: Magma Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 09'34" Parasense : Garage Celebration In San Francisco 02. 07'57" Mathematica : The First Time 03. 09'15" Golikem : Bapu Mantra 04. 08'44" Suria : Game Modulation 05. 06'06" Wrecked Machine : Flindt (Final Edit) 06. 07'20" Flashback : People Of Destruction 07. 06'53" Vaishiyas : Yogurth 08. 07'10" Insect Sun : Till 09. 08'57" Cokeroach : Doppler Dream Review: Okay... Here comes the first cd from a fairly new italian label. Magma Records has thrown some vinyls at the market before this, but i can't seem to find them anywhere. Anyways, what's on this cd? - Melodic dream goa?? NO! - Full on progressive psytrance?? NO - Minimalistic deep stuff?? YES!!!!! I usually don't like this kind of style, but this has really surprised me!! Sure, there is some boring tracks that goes nowhere, but i can tell you there is some hypnotizing shit that'll make your brain feel like acid!!! The cd starts out with a pretty full on track with a russian groupe, Para Sense... Some GMS like sounds, and weird things happening all the time! This track made my eyes roll, especially with that psychedelic voice on russian =) - Really gonna blow your head of!! Track 2 is Mathematica, apparently a quite new italian thing, nothing particular here! It's so monotoumus that the last 4 minuttes bugz me like hell =( - Bad track! Track 3 is also an Italian guy, named Paolo Passerini (Golikem). The first word that hit my brain was MINDBLOWING!! So weird sounds, so beutiful percussion that it almost hurts... - Grrrrrrreat! Track 4 is Suria... The title tells alot about the track! The samples in tthe beginning sounds like an Alien that has been through some sort of psy-trance filter, and it's super psychedelic! Also good percussion in here as well! And the Monty Python sample in the middle of the track is just faboulus! -Nice track! Track 5 is a very minimalistic track... But in a good way! - Nice percussion again, and the beat makes this a real floor-stomper! - Again a good track! Track 6 is really weird! Very monotoumus! But has some nice effects now and then... Not enough to make this track a good one... Just an average track (with horrible samples)!! With track 7 the mood changes a little... Not that deep, and with catchy psychedelic sounds all the time =) And good percussion here as well... - Very good with a change at this point, as the dark sounds begin to become a little boring! track 8 is quite full on with one of the craziest loops i've ever heard! Not that dark either, and very danceable! The start is amazing, then it becomes a little boring but then good again at the end... The last track reminds me more of psychedelic house than trance! A plain 4/4 beat with some nice sounds over it... Propably ment for clubs... Where this track should be heard!!! Overall i would say that this is one of the most positive experiences i have had with minimalistic trance... And i will for sure go out and buy more of this stuff again! A promising start from this Magma Records, wich intentions are to get some unknown artists to produce some quality music... Overall i would say that they have succeded! - I would like a little more variation though. Best tracks: 1, 3 and 4... Bad tracks: 2 and 6. I'm going to keep an eye on some of these artists... Because there is really some faboulus music on this piece of plastic!!! - 7/

Guest Genetix
I have this compil for a couple of months. I was thinking that this just low average compil that don't deserves huge attention. I was thinking like that till the day I decided to give a serious listening for this compil. And the big surprise appears. First track is just MINDBLOWING. Maybe the best track from these Russian wizards. Starts with some Russian melody. And after some time weird sounds appears. Till the brake is not that fast but after the brake starts fast. In the middle the rhythm start to changes. After third change, hard buss line starts to pump your adrenaline up. This track blows me away so far that I still can find the way beck to the reality. Rest of the track here are not that good except Golikem (t3) very weird and crazy track. Keep up the good work my friend. Worth buying only for the first and third track. Guest Tchankov I.V.
BTW, the russian female voice sample in track 1 by Parasense could be promptly translated as: "Today our Gills are feasting, Today's feast to come!"
