DeathPosture
Alienated - FF Artist: Alienated Title: FF Label: Creamcop Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 09'37" Balloonies 02. 07'39" Night Worm 03. 10'25" Fluff Factory 04. 07'48" Electro 05. 09'13" Injection (2001 Edit) 06. 09'06" Cheetah Test 07. 09'45" Peaker 08. 11'20" Last Moon Review: The plastic men are coming! Yes! This is what I like my trance to sound like. From Danish label Creamcrop comes a very interesting - and limited - debut album-release from psy-masters Thomas Larsen and Jeffrey D. Jensen (Orichalcum, etc.). This is a cool mix of different styles, which creates a very unique sound. From full-on mayhem to terror-techno to dance-till-you-drop psy-killers, this blend of fine tunes of various styles suits my ears, and my bid says that FF stands for "F*cking Fantastic".. Or Fat Fingers?.. Or Fierce Fishtank?. Or perhaps Freaky Fluffers.?! I dunno, but what I do know is that there are only 1000 copies pressed of this fine album - so go get this right now! All tracks are good, but so far my fav'e are the brilliant opener Balloonies (#1), the overwhelming Fluff Factory (#3), the hectic banging Ejection 2001 Edit (#5) and of course the stomping anthem Last Moon (#8).The only flaw I can think of, is that sometimes this tends to get just a little bit too monotonous, but hey - it's Creamcrop so I guess that's what you can expect. Go get your Fat Fingers on this when there's still time! 8.5/
Guest Antic
I bought recently Orichalcum's debut album from TIP '97 which I liked very much and when I heard about their new one (this time as Alienated) I was all excited about getting it fast, especially because only 1000 copies were pressed I must say that I'm dissapointed and not dissapointed at the same time with it! I'm not dissapointed, because the music on this disc is exactly what I expected - very fast, with lots of acid twisting and strange harmonics. On the other hand I feel a little dissapointed, because it seems hmm.... "not finished" comes to my mind as the best word. Most of the tracks start in a middle - there's just no introduction and it feels like they have been cut from the mixes or live-acts. What also pisses me off is the thing, that two great tracks - "Cheetah Test" & "Peaker" are so poorly recorded - there's almost no high frequencies in them and hi-hats are barely noticable... BUT still it's a great record. You can completely loose yourself in it's wacky and unearthly atmosphere, maybe it's a little monotonous at times but I think it's because this is not goa. It's psychedelic techno, yet still far away from minimal we hear recently... Best tracks seem to be "Fluff Facory" (wicked screetchy acid lines - I think that is where the title of CD - "FF" - comes from , "Injection (2001 edit)", "Electro", "Night Worm" and "Peaker" but others are good too...). Overall I would rate it 8/10. WORTH GETTING.
Guest Antic
I've got to add something - after hearing it on a proper sound-system I must say it's much better! Even though my initial comments about some track's recording-quality still apply I just can't stop listening to it - it's soo addictive and crazy I just can't!!! This time around I can easily give it 9.5/10!
Guest Candlejack
It just IS true... Bigger soundsystems... Better music!! Hahaha... This album is crazy full on shit. And I love it... anybody who loved the Live album from Orichalcum should check this one out!!
Guest BlueSpectralMonkey
zoooooooom! after the first listen, im putting it back in, and thats very nice. its hard to tell whats what a little, all the tracks have similar lead instrument, and stompyness. it will sweep you away from earth. It will make you forget your name if even just for a second, but then twists again into some other phase of techno ? trance crazy madness. it hints at goa, but basically its really psychedelic fucking slamming and strange. many things to think about are brought to the surface with each new blast off. sometimes they build little castles in the air, then crumple them and unfolding into something unrecognizeable, and all the while youre still danceing ... ha ha ha life is grand! yes i agree that the tracks are a bit cut or something at the beginings, but owell, they all rock. monkey gives it a 9! which means im going to play it out, this friday even. i say -- do what you can to procure this one. yay! for alienated and creamcrop, bending genres and expectations. www.touchsamadhi.com
Guest Absurdus
The most insane album I've heard! There's so much weird noises at same time and lots of acid sounds... Aaarrgh!!! Usually I don't like "disorder psytrance" but this album has changed my mind. Fluff Factory is true killer... and I don't mean only the track, whole album is fucking insane! I've got to hear this at parties soon... 9/

Anoebis
When you hear 1 song of this album it's really nice, full on, peak time acid Trance!! But... all 8 songs are complete madness, so this album is simply to intens to listen at once!! Maybe it's even too intens for playing at parties... But sometimes I can dig this style and song 3 and 6 are really kick ass... So 7/10 Bom Shankar!
Templar
This is really some good stuff on the whole of many samey releases! No bullshit here - just what the music of psyscene of tommorow should be - sick, weird and twisted Best track here is the mindblowing and asskicking Balloonies - definately would like to hear while a phase on the dancefloor (on some Toga party). We are all Alienated! PS. I don't give a note, beacause this music is not to be judged by any mark cathegories...
Guest MG
Definetely an album made with DJ's in mind as there aren't many (if any) real intro's just BANG. It is rocking enough for me to track down the orichalum stuff which I was meaning to do anyhow. I also want the new Fractal Glider Balloonies is indeed the best track on offer here
Guest davidtolsn
don't like this. track 1 is really good, makes the cd sound promising.. but the rest of the tracks don't have the same "flow." they're just random noise, in my mind. i like stuff like hux flux, etc. but i just can't dig this.. and there's no dynamics. i can't listen to more than the first few minutes of most of the tracks without it getting really annoying. i give it 3/

Guest Tchankov I.V.
Well, there's much can be said about this album - and that is a good fact indeed! The sample in Balloonies sets the trend: we're among tin soldiers now, but their feelings're so intense...Through chaotic waves of joy and bliss to the harsh reality - Cheetah tank was tested by their plastic adversaries (just listen to that rifle fire in track 6) and then the tin resistance is finally broken...the havoc plastic men wreak is best expressed through the last couple of tracks. So, when it seems that all is lost, what to do now? Well, put this album on yet one more time (you won't regret it)...and the story continues (not just repeats itself), the new vision comes, new understanding of thin processes layered within this harsh musical structure. Yeah, I gave this album 3 times "spin" in my player today & the journey it was! Even though tracks 7,8 imo are "exhausted" - switch to t.1 immediately to feel the contrast, all others complement each other well enough to not let you fall back to the reality, which...for the time being...is forgotten! (absolutely right) So, the best tracks are 1-6 with the 1st being the most "intelligent". The whole album gets 8/10 from me. Tchankov I.V.
