Review:

 

This is clearly the best of the Fill Your... comps (I haven't heard 1 & 5) with

many stunningly good tracks and the rest also firmly above average. The first

one is in my opinion one of the best GNOTR tracks, not so frantic and restless

as the newer stuff tends to be. Wonderful rubbery sounds and acid all over...

Mmm. Likes! Then comes "Let's Get Stoned And Watch The Freaks", which just

happens to be one of the best goa trance in existence. Instantly loveable

disco-style octave bass, uplifting driving melodies and totally killer

relentless acid riffs. What can I say more? I have almost lost some limbs to

this tune on several occasions at parties; I think this is the best

recommendation I can come up with about this track This is the rock'n'roll

of psytrance, as are many other Mindfield tracks at this time (Touch the Sun

and Odyssey of the Mind spring to mind).Suffice to say, that there are no bad

tracks at all, which is a rare statement from my critical mind Somehow this

comp has a really content and happy feeling all over... Sunshine and some of

that innocent carefree attitude that is so very rare in psytrance these days,

or even the other Phantasm comps. Usually all the old Phantasm comps have that

irritating dry, hard edge and emotional coldness that this one manages to

avoid very completely. Recommended very seriously to all you oldschool lovers

out there
