Tromesa : Stereoplan Review: Really good collection of tunes from one of the most respected in the scene and at that time when psychedelic was wild and cyber, Phantasm made quite a psychedelic effort with Volume 5. From the very first track DARSHAN - SLIPSTREAM which is very energetic and fast we can hear what it's coming. Whole compilation is packed with dance floor stormers TWILIGHT WORLD, MONGATARI, WAY UP IN THE AIR, SPACE ANGEL, MAELSTROM, all great tunes. This one is from golden times when most of compilations were actually good and with the sense. Psychedelicatessen 8/

That's how it's going to be." This is a gem pure and simple. All previously released singles except the Gorlation track. This was a time when psytrance was in transition mode moving from the bright melody stacks to a darker more techno influenced sound. The tracks are from 97-98 so this is an example of a label trying to squeeze a few more bucks out of you. Or maybe they had truly altruistic intentions presenting tracks that were hard to find. Glass half full? WTF?!? I asked for a large. The music itself is a nice hybrid of goa and psy. It's the type of stuff Anjuna and Zion604 would appreciate. Layered, bubbly sounds with interesting melodies and percussive hijinx. Parts of it are screeching and part storming, but always atmospheric. This ia great album and a must for your collection. If you can find it pick it up...unless you already have the vinyls. Personally I wouldn't know what to do with a vinyl. Might as well hand me a book. Goa-Head
This is one of my all time favourite (Goa) CDs. See my couple of years old review on the discogs page
