freak51
Freekstyle is the name of the musical style characterized by broken-beat psychedelic trance. As such, this comp is well-named.
Guest Gizmo
Hey La Goa Trance! If You don't like d'n'b or other styles don't tell that this compilation is shit. If U don't like this style just do not review it. I think it's very good compilation. Every track is very good work. Pumpin' full of energy break beat, even d'n'b. Blue Room is known from years, that they are releasing experimnental music ambient (Saafi, Galaxy) breakbeat (Alien, Signs Of Life compilations) Acid Jazz (Total Eclipse's last album) something else (sunkings). PLUR And BOM

Guest LaGoaTrance
V/A - Freekstyle Artist: Various Title: Freekstyle Label: Blue Room Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 06'26" Mango Trasher : Cartman 02. 06'49" Breaktec : Soldier Of Fortune 03. 05'58" Gambit And Kingy : Mystics 04. 06'19" Eat Static : Doppleganger 05. 07'54" Kronos : Android 06. 06'41" Acidrockers : Inside 07. 05'44" Deviant Electronics : Loud And Clear 08. 07'38" Dendron : Hedonistik 09. 07'28" Galaxy : The Island (Deviant Electronics Rmx) Review: This is a Jungle Compilation, NOT a Trance compilation...... I think that Blue Room should have created a new label for this compilation, a lot of us thought it was trance......for me Blue Room = Trance..... So if you like Jungle, maybe you will like it. If not, this compilation is a pure shit.....so, now beware when you buy recent Blue Room stuff.

Guest wasg[at]lettera
Could Juno Reactor participate in a similar compilation (or full album)???
Guest iNFiNiTi500
Whereas other define progressive as minimal and dark, our beloved BLUEROOM has a different view. Love it or hate it, their latest line up of albums (Spectral, Galaxy, Deviant Electronics, Juno Reactor, Acid Rockers) is so strong in the quality department that every other label looks purple of envy. Freekstyle is a good compilation where the DnB is the dominant overtone. For the average psytrancer maybe a little disappointing given that a more balanced mix of psytrance and DnB (see acts above) works well enough. Since SHANGO had a great market impact with a more conventional trance and house crowd (Juno songs are on many non psy compils), this album is more targeted for the crossover newcomer than the average psytrance lover. So be warned. 7/
Guest krelm[at]ccwf.cc.utexas[dot]edu
Excellent album on the fringe of psychedelic experimental breakbeats. Blue Room had proven themselves as one of the top psychedelic trance labels in the past. Now they have totally changed directions and have proven themselves as a great psychedelic breakbeat/d&b label with this album, the Deviant Electronics album, and the new Acid Rockers album. Here's hoping they can keep up the good work! Highlights on this one are the dark, brooding, atmospheric piece "Inside" by Acid Rockers, Deviant Electronics atmospheric mix of Galaxy's "The Island", the electro-breakbeat "Cartman" by Mango Trasher, and the psychedelic, dark, abstrack piece "Doppleganger" by the always-consistent Eat Static. 9/
Guest ritual beating system
so what 'la goa trance' - it may not have cheesy arpeggiated riffs squiggyling all over the shop and that's a good thing, a new thing... get with the program!
