DJBrucie
I like this album, it is good and I think it is very fast and with techno beats going boom-boom-boom. I would like this on the biggest stereo in the world, one as big as a house anda whale. Mummy says that I can get Classical Mushroom if I am a good boy. Guest SpaceCowboy2002[at]hotmail[dot]c
This album is pretty good upon first listen. Then it grows on you. It is infectious, hence the name ?Infected Mushroom?E The first few times I listened to it, much of it did not sit right with me. Some of it even rubbed me the wrong way. But later, coming back to the album, I saw how many things were right with it. There is a lot going on in this album, and it is sure to keep your brain busy interpreting it. They have a good sense of how to implement the echo effect, and on many occasions, they manage to get the sound just right. They certainly know their stuff on tracks 2: The Gathering, 3: Return of the Shadows, 6: Montoya Remix, 7: Tommy the Bat, and 9: Over Mode. These tracks have enough coherent intensity to make this album a very worthwhile purchase. The rest of the album is nothing to sneeze at either, but some tracks deserve to be highlighted over others. If it wasn?t for these five tracks, a rating of 6 out of 10 would be more appropriate. The presence of these five tracks boosts it to a solid and respectable 8.5. Guest Magic Plant
Fine album, but a bit overrated. Too few melodies and too many dark sounds and electronic farts. I want to dance, and this is not the best album to dance to. It is nice to listen to the songs in the background while working on the computer and my favourite tracks are Release Me and Return Of The Shadows. Guest Dr Rhythm
Come on people, enough of this now!! I've had this CD for a long time and have listened to it in as many different ways as I can think of but my view now is the same as it was initially. This CD is basically dog rough, not very good and has provoked the most amazing attack of 'emperors new clothes' syndrome I've witnessed for some time. The whole thing reminds me of 'Charly Says' by the Prodigy!! Having said that, 'Tommy The Bat' is a class track but 4/10 for the rest. I hate to think what 'Classical Mushroom' sounds like. Guest chis[at]matrik.ndo.co[dot]uk
"Release Me -great guitar line" kvin2000 says... guitars!?!? GUI-FECKING-TARS!?!?!??! I'm sorry, but as ably proved by Juno/Bible of Dreams (Swamp Thing), electronic music in general and "metal"/distorted guitar does NOT mix (the former, yes please. the latter, piss right off). Fucking ruins it for me...

Guest tranquilityallstar[at]yahoo[dot]
This was accually one of my first goa/psytrance albums, and it sucked me in. I don't think that it is the absolute best, but it certainly is amazing. My favorite song is without a doubt Tommy The Bat, which is still my favorite track off of any album that I own. Other favorites of mine are Blue Muppet and Over Mode. 8/

karcarman
I discovered the Infected style buy getting Classical Mushroom, which the Best album I have. And I must say that this one disappoint me. There are tracks 3, 7, 8 that I really like but the others are just 'correct' and that is that I wasn't expecting. But it's a good album, and Infected Mushroom must be the most interesting group of the moment I know, and the most talented.
Guest Someone.
"Look at me, I'm discovering psychedelic trance trough Infected Mushroom. I heard alot about them so that's why it should be like eXCELLENT. I began listening psytrance for 2 years and Infected guys are gods. I don't care what they did before and what's existing outside their music but hey, I'm like everyone else and got no culture from the past 'cause I wasn't there." -- Okay now, I think this album is okay, sometimes boring, sometimes wonderful. Calm down and think about it.

I really love psytrance and especially simon posford but this was something incredible!! keep on going boys! Gathering would be something to 9/10 and classical 10/10 !!! Guest Dead74
This has got to be one of the most innovative trance albums ever!!! It took me the longest time to digest, but when I finally got it, I was blown away. I know a lot of people out there who will buy this, and not listen to it for a while, but don't worry 'cause it'll kick in. I think it was when I was trippin' acid or shrooms, I was walking outside and couldn't get the Infected sounds out of my head! For those of you who are trying to understand this album, the answer is in the horrible album cover. With a cover like that and a name like Infected Mushroom, you'd think that they gotta be kinda funny, right? Well, they are! What makes this album so unique is that it's three dementional(opposed to multi-dementional). It creates its own world with characters and buildings. Just listen to "Return of the Shadows." This track does it for me every time. The whole album is really well done, and it just blows me away that Erez Aizen was only 18 when he released this album! Also the eye-openers are "Release Me," "the Gathering," "Psycho," and "Virtual Voyage." I'll give this a solid 10/10. It's already a classic! Guest AlexG
a lot of people have said that this is overrated, but i really disagree: "classical mushroom" maybe, but not "the gathering"! tracks 1,3,8, and 9 are really easy to get into and will probably strike you first. 2 and 5 are somewhere in the middle, but at the same time extremely wicked! but the real burried gems are 4,6, and 7: these seem mediocre at first, but just give your ears a workout and listen deeper - you'll be amazed! anyway, the reason this album got so big is because at the time of its release, this was the need of the hour: every other trance cd coming out was boring to tears, and then all of a sudden we were hit with this wicked shit! =) but that's not to say that the album's only strength was its shock factor, because when you really stop and listen to it, this is some very, very good trance! in the vein of hallucinogen's "twisted" and x-dream's "radio" (i.m. even admit they were copying them, but i think they did much more than that). after the initial oh-my-god-i've-never-heard-anything-like-this-before shock of "classical mushroom" has passed, i actually think this album is much better: they really tried hard here, and made excellent trance. definately in one of my top 5 trance albums ever! 9.5/
Guest daoistraver[at]hotmail[dot]com
Release Me..aaaaaaaa!!!! this is a 10/10 track, up there with L.S.D. This album is not quite as sublime as 'classical mushroom' but still awesome!! Why is all the trance moving away from this glorious path.. We need Infected Mushroom to save us, almost no one else is making truly 'psychedelic' trance anymore..

Guest Ehsanur
Where is that shroomy-vibe? Â This is my second review on Infected Mushroom (the first one disappeared misteriously).I am bit scared to review The Gathering, because of this intergalactic madness when it comes to Infected Mushroom. First of all,the songs are overall good, not that crappy cheese shit. Release me And Return of the shadows are my personal "Shit, this is amazing". But how amazing is it? Compared to Simon Posford,Etnica/Pleiadians and Total Eclipse (why aren't they top rated?), Infected Mushroom lacks something. Its hard to point out exactly what. One thing that irritates me is the total absence of hi-hat. You only get this one-dimension drumsound and I think this makes Infected Mushroom highly listenable but it doesnt work for the body on the dancefloor. Some parts of the songs are good, but either its too short or its too much. No Q about the sound-engineering and composing abilities of the two brains in Infected Mushroom. However, most of the music follow the same deep, dark patterns with sometimes excellent synth-lines. Look at Simon Posford, his sound comes under so many alias, in so many shapes And colors and for so many moods. the Gathering is not THE best goa-album ever, it can get cheesy (Classical has some stinky guitars) and i haven't noticed that they make any ambient (minus for variety!). Let them try to make an album like "Shpongle" and then we can start comparing them to other gurus in this branch. Its infact predictable...song after song. Dont get me wrong: Its not bad, but where will this hysteria end? 7/10 Eshanti Brahman
