Guest Le Lotus Bleu
V/A - Global Psychedelic Chill Out 3 Artist: Various Title: Global Psychedelic Chill Out 3 Label: Spirit Zone Date: 2002 Track listing: CD 1 01. 07'23" Ouija : Meet Me At The Lab 02. 05'59" Younger Brother : Evil And Harm 03. 07'50" Morphem : 15 seconds 04. 05'54" Kick Bong : Vaporum 05. 09'45" Ooze : Restricted Flow 06. 09'13" Yucatan : Digital 07. 08'51" Indiadrop : Yamahmud (El Jadida Mosque Mix) 08. 09'24" Alien Mutation : The Earth, The Sun, The Moon 09. 08'53" Spacefish : Aerospace CD 2 01. 05'36" Ololiuqui : Beautiful 02. 06'34" Grey Area : Penumbra 03. 05'15" Kassiopeia : Left Circuit 04. 06'19" Lissa : Casiena 05. 05'46" Jens Buchert : Tequila Sunrise 06. 07'05" Shiva Chandra : Frizz Bee 07. 07'37" Dubbelhelix : Magic Night 08. 08'14" Electric Universe : Longing Review: cd1 is full of tracks but the tracklist isn't very good and cd2 is better but quite short. That could be the sum up of this comp. Some more details about tracks and artists, here we start on cd1 with Ouija (Mc Coy & Sacha Pragal) which is not at his best on this attempt of trance-chill. Younger Brother are Simon Posford + Benji Vaughan, and deliver a strange tune mixing psychedelic sounds and country-blues (in my mind disappointing ). Morphem have done a boring track which was previously released on their album. Kick Bong is a french artist, listening Vaporum you have the impression that you're in a sauna or a hamam . Ooze (Seb Muellaert from Son Kite) gives a nice springlike melody with noises imitating bird's singing, it's without any doubt one of the best stuff on cd1. Yucatan (Yann Hennaf of Bamboo Forest) track contains synthesized voices, average. Indiadrop (seems to be american) have melt arabian sounds , saxophone and guitar wah-wah. It results for me, that's the worst track of the whole compilation. Peaceful and serenity atmospheres are inside Alien Mutation work, very good. Spacefish (Linus Wessel and 2 others guys) ends well this first cd with soft guitar riffs. Best Things arrives with cd2, you won't find here bad tracks, just 2 average from Ololiuqui (awfull synthesized voice) and Kassiopeia (bit boring). Mention to Grey Area, Lissa (italian producer?),Jens Buchert (nice melody played at transverse flute) and Electric Universe. Frizz Bee contains soft sax and guitar. Dubbelhelix , what a surprise, with Magic Night is dubby and composed by Jam El Mar and Michael Kohlbecker (from Saafi bros) . rating : 7/10 (mostly due to cd2)

Guest Nataraja[at]cannabismail[dot]com
Whoaou whoaou, it seems to me that there's much talk about this new compilation !! Unfortunately, arguments remain always and always the same... Some like deep-ambient-very-slow-without-kick-during-a-quarter-hour, and some like ultra-psychedelic-atmospheric-bassed-chill-vibes.... Well...... i like BOTH !! and I always laugh when I read someone writing "it's boring" !! This compilation is quite quite well done and masterised, and use what I would like to call a "new generation" of samples.... I think U should understand that the artists are fed up with making always the same..... They aren't Robots..... are they ? (Hu hu...) I can't agree with "Lelotusbleu" about the Younger Brother track.... I don't want to take the defence of Posford (I respect him a lot, but Hallucinogen has never been my favourite project), but Evil & Harm is greeeeeeat !!! With a fantastic voice sample, and a nearly Hip-Hop or BreakBeat rythm... Well done Spirit Zone, let's keep up the fight !
Guest * Vlad *
Only heard a few songs from this compil, all are exellent so far, including the haunting beauty of Morphem "15 seconds". If thats not Chill out music, then Elvis Presley created Drum & Bass.

Guest Reflekshun
OK - first off i must get this off my chest the first review says 'evil and harm' is boring - ITS WRONG. This is a killer track and a definite stand out. Personally it's the least boring track - although there aren't any boring tracks on this compil!! might i add - the packaging is bloody SUPERB! The first CD is supposed to be more trancey, and the second more loungy.. it's not exactly transparent mixing between tracks, but the tracks are great sounding, well mastered.. Very new sounding. Here and there we have the memorable melody and/or rhythm (Although i probably could have done with a few more of these than there are). Alot of beautiful sounds. did i mention the beautiful sounds? hmm 8/10 I prefer vol.2 but this is fresher. I think it may take a few listens to get comfortable with the tracks before i can seriously chill to this.
