Guest Baboon
Tarsis - G-Lock Artist: Tarsis Title: G-Lock Label: Global Trance Network Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 08'02" Skydiver 02. 07'27" Twilight Zone 03. 07'06" Tribal Pop 04. 06'07" Jolly Jumper 05. 06'43" Distance 06. 08'06" Pumpstation 07. 06'49" High Energy 08. 06'08" Samurai 09. 08'38" Drop Out Review: At first I wanna say that I like Tarsis very much, I have all their albums and their Live set at Arvika Festival in Sweden last year, really kicked ass. Anyway... this album is a bit diffrent from the other two. The album is very well composed... the tracks get more uplifting the longer in to the album you get. It begins with some really nice " late morning trance" tracks... then te bassline keeps pumping up and gets a bit more minimal. Kinda typical german style, sort of dark and evil minimal trance, but still not as hard and kicking as for example Haldolium, so if you like that, then you should probably get this one... I'll give it 7/10, as said very well composed and a nice journey trough the hole album. Enjoy!

Guest Per Sterud
I'm writing this review as a warning to The People, the people who come here to enjoy new and interesting things and have a sense of trust in the industry of Psychedelic Trance, its artists and their record labels: This isn't Tarsis. This is "Tarsis Productions." Just Krueger, not Krueger and Wessel. It's a record company scam and deserves no attention. I say its a scam because everyone, including the first reviewers above, as well as most on-line stores, think that this album is by Tarsis when it's not. Not only that, but this album in its entirety is horribly mediochre, derivative and pedestrian, especially as a "follow-up" to the wonderful album, Melt (8.5/10). If you fall for this one, you're a big fat sucker to The Man and to Bad Music. 5/10 for the music, 0/10 out of principle.
Guest DeeJay Jones
My experience of Tarsis extends to three albums : Tarsis - Melt, SBK - Treibstoff and Tarsis - G.Lock .. I think they are all very good albums but all with a different flavor to them. Melt is great in its both dreamy and danceable style, Treibstoff (yes I know it's only Sebastian Krüger and not the entire group) is more raw I think, best track is in my opinion Druckverteiler, a killer minimal progressive dancy track with a funky conga-tomtom-break that speeds up your feet!!! G.Lock is a step forward for Tarsis I think, they have blended just a tiny bit of club style into their raw psytrance, which might give them more listeners from other trancelovers' categories (?) .. Best tracks on G.Lock : Skydiver, Distance & High Energy .. overall rating : 8/
freak51
This is a step forward ... straight into the shopping mall. I found this to be too much gloss and no soul at all. There are some nice grooves here for the morning as long as you're not actually listening to it. Between this record, the Firewire comp, Movers & Groovers etc I'm not liking the direction the psy-trance sound is taking. Blecch. 2/10. GaySatanicHippie
I need only one word to describe this piece of music: AVERAGE Everything about this is average. The beats are not phat, and not thin. Its not really melodic, but it isnt minimal either. It's not pumping, but it isnt smooth either. There are some good ideas, but they are not really followed through on. It is pleasant to listen to, but it doesnt grab me ( at all actually). This is music for the lowest common psytrance denominator. Nobody will be annoyed by this or hate it, but also nobody will love and go crazy about it. Tarsis Prod. should have stolen a track title from Atmos and used it as the title for this CD: "Average Beverage" Because that is what it is. A formerly tasty beverage that has been sitting out in the sun and that has gone stale and all the carbonation has dissipated into thin air. so, my grade is exactly average 5/10. THe SBK CD by the same guy was much much better.

Guest the dank man
I haven't heard the album yet, but reading Freak51's review, I probably won' get it. The beauty and uniqueness of psy-trance is its underground nature. Please, let 's keep it that way.
Guest russ
the album is too clubby by far, but "pumpstation" rocks in a very tarsis-way.

Guest eden[at]jamethial.ath[dot]cx
They've managed to produce an audio effect that resembles the sound of someone beating an inflatable donkey with a golf club. Five stars. -danger-maiden-
