Guest clark_303
V/A - Goa Classix 3 Artist: Various Title: Goa Classix 3 Label: Nova Tekk Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 07'26" Zodiac Youth : Devil Circus (Elysium Mix) 02. 07'00" Jupiter 8000 : Saturn 03. 10'03" MOS : Bug 04. 07'33" Hallucinogen : Horrorgram 05. 08'34" Green Nuns Of The Revolution : Conflict 06. 07'08" Shakta : The Future Is Now 07. 12'27" Chi-ad : Pathfinder 08. 09'05" Atmos : Bad Lieutenant 09. 08'04" SUN Project : Casio-Paya Review: This is a great compilation combining old school tracks with progressive trance(minimal tracks, that is). Most of these(if not all) are found on albums so if you have a lot of albums from the nineties, you have these tracks...The first track is a good example of older British psy-trance sound but is not really exceptional in any way, still a very good track. Jupiter 8000 is Boris Blenn and Daniel Vernunft and their track is a groovy minimalistic one, but it's not the new psy-techno sound though, it doesn't have that huge bass or anything. It has actually quite an original atmosphere. 3rd track is a trippy one that concentrates on metallic and alien sounds that really work. The name Bug fits very well. Horrorgram is very well-known so I don't need to comment on it...Green Nuns track is their usual sound, high pitched synth lines with original bass drum sound and of course the acid lines eventually come in too. A steady track that doesn't let you down and even has some very creative breaks. Shakta's track is great too. Sweeping acid lines, scifi-melodies and very crunchy sounds with the great vocal sample of the title. The beat is what I'd call very typical of Shakta. Track 7 is not that typical Chi-A.D. sound but nonetheless, I love it, tribal atmosphere and very heavy percussions and technoish and industrial sounds combined with psy-trance sounds. I love that female vocal. A true masterpiece! Atmos track is very hypnotic and intelligent with really no melodies until 5 minutes. But after the long wait the melodies sound really good and it's a very carefully composed track indeed, it manages to surprise you again in the end. The S.U.N. Project track is very dark at first(but changes a little in the middle) with huge bass and driving bassline. A true stomper with great beat and lots of interesting sounds. So this compilation is definitely worth the money if you don't have these tracks elsewhere.

Asterope
An average comp !! #4, Horrorgram is excellent, one of my fav simon's track. #5, #6 and #9 are also pretty good. But there are pure shit, Pathfinder is disgusting and bad lieutenant and bug are so annoying :-( !!! On the whole : 4.5/
Guest Le Lotus Bleu
I shouldn't normally have bought this compilation but the fact is i found in second hand. So mid price comp in second hand means very cheap investment for quite good old goa but not classics stuffs (it's a bit exagerated) for me. best moments come from tracks 1,3,4,5,9. Advice:if you find in second hand like me ,don't hesitate ,go buy it.
Trance2MoveU
Oh boy. 3rd in a series? Usually spells doom. However... Loved the Bug. Loved it. Smooth and sinister. That gradual time signature change in Horrorgram is pretty slick as well. Conflict by the Nuns is a stormer and The Future is Now by Shakta is one that demands movement. Like a lot of people I used to hate Pathfinder, but now I find it so interesting. Having more in common with Cydonia /Elysium than Etnica and Dimension 5 this tribal stomp is hypnotic especially when the vocal arrives. It just keeps churning. Not bad for the last entry in a trilogy.
