And altough it isn't very recent, it still sounds fresh!! Really good morning-trance!! Best songs are:1,4,5,7,8,9!! The song of Astral projection is even the second best song they ever made (after Nilaya) and the song of Doof is also awesome!! Guest hagait[at]isdn.net[dot]il
First of all, this is not Psy-Trance it's a pure Goa Trance from the happy Trance day of 1995 and still kicking even today, and it contains great Goa hits from some very big names, this CD would be perfect if it did not contain Doof's Born Again,i really don't like this track and it seems so out of place... Guest ChrisdeeACiD
Be proud if you own this one coz it's very hard to get nowadays... true Goa Vibes all the way. Astral Projection kix ass and so does the Quad step song. The two best songs are "Kundalini" and "Sound Beams". I love Sound Beam.. Such power! Get this somehow! Trance2MoveU
Artist: Various Title: Goa Vibes Vol. 1 Label: Trust In Trance Records Date: 1995 1. Let there be light - ASTRAL PROJECTION2. Quadstep - VOODOO PEPOLE3. Kundalini - SPECTRAL4. S.E.T.I - PSYCHAOS5. Born again - DOOF6. Moonstone - SPECTRAL7. Shambala - CYDONIA8. Sound beams - PSYCHAOS9. Hyperspaced - THE INFINTY PROJECT10. Toxic caterpillar - TOTAL ECLIPSE Another review where I'm responding to Joske. Ah, he was so young then. Parents who attend multi day festivals, have kids who attend multi day festivals. Stop this problem before it starts. Invest in a good set of headphones and stay home. Paid for by Sony and to a much lesser but greater douchebag extent, Beats by Dr. Dre. Now where were we... "Do you believe in extra terrestrials?" Go on... Now this is classic goa trance right here my friends. Starting off with an absolute smash by some project named Astral Projection who will have quite a future if they stick with it. Quadstep- Paul (Mr. Jackson if you're nasty) is the mind behind Genetic, but I won't hold that against him. This one pulsates with wicked energy becoming crunchy and mysterious. Kundalini- "Drifting through the galaxy..." Ok I see where this is going. Shake your butt and layer town. Drifting through time and space with a detailed track this one is more than just a full-on smash. Deeper than that. I think Kundalini is Hindi for, "You better sit down, you're gonna be here for a while." S.E.T.I.- "Do you believe in the existence of extra terrestrials?" The ET theme continues with a bass line that seeks you out. Add the goa flares and this one has attitude. Multitudes of layers when this gets going and it is up front and in your personal space. Fantastic...they don't make 'em like dis no mo. Born Again by Doof is his crowning achievement with bubbling synths that boil over until oops!...you got it all over yourself. Growling and shrieking at the same time he better be careful or he might twist that knob clean off. Moonstone- Spectral again with something a little more on the tribal side. It's calmer than the previous tracks, but still maintains that spiritual vibe. Makes me think of the Heaven's Gate cult. "I go to the pisser for 5 minutes and your pricks leave without me? And you drank all the kool aid you f*cks!" Shambala- Their album Fear of a Red Planet is a classic for me and while not as chaotic this track has a dark tension. That chopped up melody gets me every time. Sound Beams- "Sound beams produce a sympathetic vibration." Just when your were starting to settle onto your cloud here comes Psychaos to tip you over. They are the Frontline Assembly of psytrance with a storming bass line and synths that are both sparkly and juicy. But that bass is the story. Get out the Doc Martins and fight conformity! I said Doc Martins. That's Doc McStuffins. My kid watches that. What happened to you? Hyperspaced- Another outer space standard that combines the talent of Doof, Graham Wood, and HOLY SH*T Raja Ram is over 70! Is he even alive? One second, we're getting breaking news that...yes, he has been sighted. Cue video! The effects make the track and while enjoyable it's not my favorite here. Toxic Caterpillar- What about this track makes a caterpillar toxic. I've always been a little dubious of this project as I felt it doesn't hold a place with the true masters of the genre, but it has it's charm. And every caterpillar turns into a butterfly. If it doesn't get eaten first that is. Compiled by the Astral guys, I liked this one better than the first Psychedelic Vibes compilation. It came right out of the gate on fire and showed consistent quality throughout. Get it if you can, but it might be harder to find than the A-Team. But if you need help getting psychedelic...and you can find them... Dude was so badass back in the day. Raja knows what I'm talkin' about.
