Guest Magic Plant
Etnica - Tribute is one of the best goa songs that I've heard. The build up from the start to 3:00 is very good, but after that comes the main melody which is so powerful. Then comes the sound from the build up, and after that the main melody again, but in a bit weaker form. An a very cool part starts at 4:35 and goes on until the big finale, with that great melody again.

khogg
I don't own this one, but I have most songs on other albums. If you don't, then this is definitely worth having. Tracks 1,2,6,7,8,9 are all classics. The others I haven't heard.
khogg
Okay, I must revise my review above as I now own a copy of this. Track 1 (shape the future) is not the same version found on their album The Prophecy. Instead, it's a remix with some annoying chirps and screachy sounds added overtop. You can hear the heart of the song underneath but the added sounds really ruin it for me. Track 2, the MWNN remix, is an excellent early MWNN style song with a heavy solid beat and some nice swirly sounds. Track 3 and 4 are...listenable, but not great. Track 5 (xoco) is very NICE! Sounds oldschool, with some nice drifting uplifting melodies, and a fairly melow pace to it. Track 6 is X-Dream! Need I say more. A classic track from their We Created Our Own Happiness album. Track 7 is a remix of Transwave's excellent Rezwalker. It's very similar to the original, just with a boomy echo background atmosphere added in. Track 8 is, for me, the standout track on this album. I used to have it mixed, and am so glad to finally have it unmixed here. See Magic Plant's review of this one above. And finally track 9. This not the version on Astral's masterpiece album Trust in Trance. It's a slow remix of it. If you like that sort of thing, then okay. For me, the power is gone. So, overall, a decent album. Worth your money if you don't already have tracks: 2, 5, 6, 7, & 8.
Asterope
I think it is a quite good comp. Best songs are 1,5,7,8 ( transwave at its best ) and 9. Bad track is n°2. I won't say anything about X-Dream, I don't like their style, so I don't like that song. I agree with the guy above, Xoco is fantastic, powerful oldschool melodies in it, soo good !! 7/10 for this CD.
Trance2MoveU
Artist: Various Title: Goa Vibes Vol. 2 Label: Trust In Trance Records Date: 1995 01. MFG : Shape the Future02. Art of Trance : Octopus (Man With No Name Rmx)03. 100th Monkey : Spiritus04. Rhythmystec : Stellium05. Blue Planet Corporation : Xoco06. X-Dream : Do You Believe07. Transwave : Rezwalker (Black Thunder Mix)08. Etnica : Tribute09. Astral Projection Feat MFG : Radial Blur Compiled by Israeli deities Astral Projection the 2nd installment in the Goa Vibes series ls laden with classics from the golden years of goa trance. "But Mike, I can find all these tracks on other comps." First I wasn't aware this was a question and answer session. That said, there is a reason for that. MWNN so forcibly abducted the Octopus track that the Art of Trance still cannot play it to this day. Do You Believe is a slow, undulating churner that captures the mysticism of goa trance. I don't know what a Rezwalker is, but the Black Thunder Version is two scoops of awesome. Yeah, it's that good. And we haven't even gotten to Etnica yet. Tribute pumps and swirls and stacks layers like I stack checks. Well, like I would if I had a job. And no Astral compilation would be complete without an Astral track. I would've preferred the original Radial Blur, but the downtempo version isn't without its charm. Bottom line...I would own the sh*t out of this. Manuser
Looking at the tracklist, this looks like a fantastic compilation, with a preference for tracks 5 / 6 and 8.
Paul Eye
MWNN so forcibly abducted the Octopus track that the Art of Trance still cannot play it to this day. You mean AoT can't play the original or the remix? He sure did play the original at S.U.N. Festival (and I'm glad he did). And btw, 100th Monkey - Spiritus is of the greatest goa trance tracks of all time and nothing short of a blast on the dancefloor.
Trance2MoveU
You mean AoT can't play the original or the remix? The original. The joke was that MWNN made that track and their version was so popular that it was on MANY compilations. So much so that perhaps the highest court in the land would rule that MWNN was now the rightful owner of that track. Sure there would be appeals and the defense would attempt to try the court in the media, but it would ultimately be unsuccessful. Liberties taken!
