Jeto
V/A - Hardcore Blastoff Artist: Various Title: Hardcore Blastoff Label: HOM-Mega Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 07'53" Psysex In Panick : Hardcore Blastoff 02. 08'28" Psysex And Manitu : The Final Mission 03. 08'28" Psysex In Panick : Little Black Hole 04. 07'36" Psysex : Dominatrix 05. 08'24" Psysex On Mushroom : Dirty 80s 06. 08'16" Growling Mad Sex : Imprint 07. 10'02" Children Of The Doc : Bionic Bong 2001 (Psysex Rmx) 08. 08'11" Psysex : Smooth Sailing 09. 04'52" Psysex : Koopa Troopa Review: After thier first succesful release PsySex gives us "Hardcore Blastoff". The album features a new artist "Panick" and known ones such as "DuvDev", "Manitu", and the "Growling Mad Scientists". In Hardcore Blastoff loads of breaks and beat changes. The melodies would be of a subtle kind. Final Mission being one of the 3rd remixes to me sounds very much like the others. If you hear closely in the middle you could hear Manitu's influence. Little Black Hole again featuring "Panick" drops the pace of the album a bit. Dominatrix comes back strong sounding very breaky. This song really starts to kick towards the end with Wah. PsySex On Mushroom makes a diffrent theme to the album. You can definatly hear DuvDev's melodies in hear. Towards the end it gets very dreamy, nicey nice. Imprint definatly being a highlight on this album as that stompy feel with uprisings and everything you can possibly imagine. Bionic Bong Rmx is on of my favorites on this disc. Now hearing Smooth Sailing you can hear a total diffrent twist in sound going towards thier more freestyle side project "Koopa Troopa". More laidback and you can actually hear chords. Very relaxing and Sunset Boulevard going into something very experimental. I'm glad they bring a diffrent sound for a change. Overall this album has some great tunes and I would recommend you go out there and BUY it and get the really groovy artwork.
Guest OA
Definelty my favorite new album out rite now. This album is different than the first Psysex. I don't know how to expain, maybe "a little less with a lot more". And expression is one of my favorite albums btw. This one gets me real fuking twisted and pumps me up big time. The sounds in here are great. All over, wacked out, crystal clear flangerlalyflabblerits. I love it. My favs here and Bionic Bong 2001(wow) Dirty 80's(wow) and Final Mission. Smooth sailing is kikass too. A chilled out different Psysex sound. I suck at reviews but Im pumped about this album so i had to write one. Just get it and listen to it! It fuking rules! Guest iNFiNiTi500
Finally some PHAT psychosounds from Israel again, probably straight outta the SM chambers of Jerusalem as the titles suggest. Well, it sure is no torture to be exposed to Hardcore Blastoff as the varied trax are among the best heard lately if LogicBomb/old Infected is your thinghy. After a somewhat minimalistic start, the record really blasts off with Little Black Hole and the madness continues untill the innovative and excellent chillout of Smooth Sailing. Psysex master the gentle art of efficient song construction since every track builts up to a great momentum towards the end with wicked melody changes. This is the kind of craftmanship where Infected seem to have a patent on but they unfortunately lost it a bit lately. Very recommended album therefore especially if you take the progress from the somewhat immature first attempt into account. Bring out the GIMP: 8.5/

freak51
I'll probably never get back into the Israeli sound again, but this record is way better than the first one. It's not shit.

Guest slinker
Move aside BP empire..this could certainly share the throne as the best album of the year so far!....devastatingly good, reminds me a bit of cryptic crunch the way some of of breaks are fused in...and thats sure a good thing!! 9.8/10 YEEAAHHHHHH
Guest Swede Indeed
Yes, this is really goodiegoodie! The sound is sooo fat and clear. It could have been a little more Blastoff but I love it anyway. Best tracks are The Final Mission (The best rmx of the three), Dirty 80's (Infected sounding killer track) and Bionic Bong 2001 (man what a groove at 4:49!) A 9/10 I think... Guest thomasmichiel66[at]hotmail[dot]c
Together with Infected's BP Empire and Psycraft's Gravitech one of the finer albums this year released. Not "too much in one moment" like their previous album; hard to stay in your chair with this one....8,5/10 respect.
Guest dwineboi[at]hotmail[dot]com
This Cd Is Great Just Loved It!!! i think that this is one of the best artist album of this year!!! 9/
Guest Eyal Yankovich
I think this is one of the best albums that HOMmega released in a long time. It's high quality production and superb story telling is second to none(at the moment). I stopped writing about HOMmega releases from the moment i felt that some people find it not objective enough, but an album like "Hardcore Blastoff" makes my head spin and i have to say my opinion(after all, aside from being HOMmega, i am also a veteran "trance-head" and DJ for as long as i can remember). The future belongs to Psy Sex(everybody say HEY)!!! / DJ Eyal Y.
Guest helium
Well after many listens I just love it more. At first I didn't really "get off" on it as it didn't seem to "explode". Now however I realize I just needed to get on the same "waveleangth" or "groove" or "pace" of it- so much energy that's released in a very new way- groundbreaking and epic to be sure. Big phat sound and HAS what SO MUCH PSYTRANCE *DESPRATELY* LACKS, and that is FUNK!!! This shit is funky as all get out and I wager the ladies will like it too ;-) Fuckin groovin man... Guest Sound Surgeon
One of the best albums of 2001. Bp empire is much worser than that album ( for all infected lovers their first 2 albums rock!! not bp empire). Dirty 80's , Bionic Bong & The Last Mission are great... the best israeli album in that year for sure!!!

Guest Slidingtrancer
I listened to this in a cd-store today and I must say I felt really impressed with it. I have no money, but when I get some, it'll depend on my mood which cd I will buy. Contestants are Violet Vision, Nomad and this one I really enjoyed the last 3 trax. From what I heard ( I was in kind of a hurry) 8.5/10 I'll review it again when I get it!
Guest Slidingtrancer
I bought it and my first impression was it had too much breakz, but that's just the complexity of this getting to me. I'll have a few more listens, because it IS addictive

Guest tranquzo[at]yahoo[dot]com
together with Cosma-Symplicity, this is the best album of 2001 IMO, very innvoating & interesting. it combines few different styles of psy-trance, for times more melodic (dirty 80's), for times more psychedelic (bionic bong rmx, little black hole), even touches of full-on (imprint) and most of the time its groovy & bouncy (just listen to hardcore blastoff), but still it managed to sound like a whole piece. the production is amazing, the sound is real fresh & crispy here, through whole of the album. great for home listening, and killer at parties. I would recomend it to anyone who likes music....9.9/
