Guest 1400Miles
Space Tribe - Heart Beat Artist: Space Tribe Title: Heart Beat Label: Spirit Zone Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Heartbeat 02. All Senses Vibrating 03. Tweaked Eyeballs 04. The Acid Test 05. R U Enlightened 06. Lights In The Sky 07. What's The Sound 08. Reality Or Make Believe Review: 'Heartbeat' is the yearly ritual that is a new Space Tribe album. Apparantly living in the middle of Australia's nowhere has some advantages; Olli seems rather blind towards any persuasive progressive and minimal trends. Result: only the fourth quality 604-ish release this year imo(others are FractalGlider,ElectricUniverse and Cosmosis, CHI-ADs promising 'EarthCrossing' should have been among this short list). Although 'Heartbeat' will not directly revolutionize the genre, Mr.Wisdom revitalizes the previous ST efforts with more consistency, no-more-really-disturbing samples and a true love of the acid synth. The track with Electric Universe is already a classic and the other tunes are not far behind.'Heartbeat' is above all abundant proof that a torchbearer for quality 604 can do more than moan, cry wolf or surrender to persuasive trends; Olli simply delivers his acid goodies and does it with a sheer class as only the few true icons can...9/10. Guest AstraL699
Very nice album from internationla shaman Olli Wisdom Old style, no innovation, and this fantastic acid sound. I love it. My favourite tracks are: Heartbeat, The Acid Test (with Borris Blen from Electric universe) and the last one, Reality Or Make Believe. My rating 8.5/
Guest Rx7style
Not bad!!! This reminds me of older goa with simple repetitions of strong synth lines that are of a pleasurable nature. Some sounds are very strange and weird, but at least it's interesting and unexpected at times! Good percussive layers with nice builds and breaks as well. On a whole this album has darker melodies, but I don't care much for some of the spoken samples here and there. I don't see their relevance to some of the tracks, except for track 7 'What's That Sound' where it's almost deliberately frantic sounding. Cool! My favourites are 1, 2, 7, 8 for good variation. Nice production quality too, so my final verdict is 7/10 8^)
Guest Satoshi
oh god i love this cd...its one of my favourite Space Tribe cd´s ever...why? well because he can evolve in his music, but still have that mighty personal flavor that we will shake our asses to! 9/10 definetly
Guest Davidtolsn
the most common complaints i hear about space tribe are... (1) the style never changes and (2) too many samples. i've always agreed with the second, and i'm beginning to agree with the first. after reading the positive reviews i expected something new. but... this is exactly the same!! there are no new sounds, and it's just the old ones used in less creative ways, it seems to me. don't get me wrong, there's some good stuff on here, but i think many other space tribe cds do the exactly same thing but better. and a lot of times too many samples ruin what would've otherwise been ok songs. unless you're a space tribe collector or haven't heard them before you can live without this cd. best tracks: 3 and 4. all others are below average. 6.5/
Jalliuz
Best full cd of Space tribe for me so far! I really liked the others but this is in my sense of music just a bit better. Harder then before and still full-on, sounds new without copiyng a style too much. Good work 9/
Guest Full On
Great full on CD hear. Great melodies, not too high BPM, great samples (maybe too much), etc... the guy has it's own style... For sure must of the tracks in this CD fit on many DJ sets... Really good music, all musics are good, with an special attention to Heart Beat, All senses vibrating, Acid Test and r u enlightned. But all tracks in this CD works. Go and buy it, it's not "what the people are hering on the dancefloors right now", but is high quality good psychedelic trance... Buy it, it works, specially if you don't have any space tribe cd. 8.5/
Tentwins
I didn't like it. It gets kind of boring after the third track. No interesting sequences, layers, sounds or samples to keep your attention. Nevertheless it's not that bad, I liked the basslines and the beat rate 6/
Lemmiwinks
YAY!!! Now that 2002 is gone, I proclaim this BEST 02 release!! EVERY track is a masterpiece!! Space Tribe is like good wine: he ages gracefully. Whereas his previous albums were a hit or miss for me, mainly because there was too much randomness in them, this one is just perfect. The quirky structures transformed into beautifull progressions. No minimal here and no directionless acid lines blew over your face GMS style either. Like I said, just perfect!! OK,if I have anything bad to say is that Oli could've added a bit more melody (I mean TRUE melodies, not just full-on loops) in other parts than just the last 2 minutes of his tracks. But hey, with all the shit we've been getting recently I'm not complaining. Best tracks : Heart Beat, Tweaked Eyeballs and Acid Test 10/10!!! Ormion
This is a very-very good cd, a perfect combination of goa with acid full on. It's not that good as Shapeshifter but it has great tracks. Best of all The Acid Test. AMAZING!!!!! 8/
Sideffect...
indeed, bassline is very motivating and the space tribe sound is better then before, not better then 1998. nice work...
Trance2MoveU
Think this one was a little bit of a step back. The tracks weren't bad especially for 2002, but they are far from masterpieces. You wanna tout Sonic Mandala? Fine. The Ultraviolet Catastrophe? Sure. Shapeshifter...you bet. But this is a definite fouth place finish and it ain't even that close. Thumping beats and acidic at times it's a good album, but like I said a step back when comparing it to some of his previous works. Sometimes goa sometimes psy it's not as developed and deep as those albums I mentioned IMO. And no I don't count 2000 O.D., The Pope album, and the Future is Right Now...that stuff was nonsense.
