freak51 Posted May 1, 2000 Posted May 1, 2000 V/A - Heavy Machinery Artist: Various Title: Heavy Machinery Label: Hadshot Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 09'30" Abra Cadabra : Nature Calling 02. 08'40" Sandman : Illegal Business 03. 07'13" Sinister Funk : Propulsion 04. 06'14" Eat Meaterr : Neighbours 05. 08'43" Screec : Schangel 06. 08'14" Activate Morlack : Psai Sai 07. 08'40" DIMO : Modularis 08. 07'05" Impact : Start Control Review: This record is full of harsh, psychedelic-techno noises. This sound shows a deep Industrial influence and probably kicks ass on a very good stereo. Increasingly though, I find the psy-tech sound suffers greatly, losing all its interesting bits, in the white noise of stereos with even the tiniest bit of distortion. Also, fundamentally it's just not that interesting. Unfortunately the techno that it seems to borrow from is the harsh UK techno sound, more an exercise in toughing it out rather than the wonderful (to my ears) organic, minimal Detroit sound. Worth picking up if you really liked the DJ Dede comp off Psychedelic Deli. Quote
Guest Mascok Posted July 27, 2000 Posted July 27, 2000 though released last year, i've just bought this compilation. and i have to say its amazing!. all tracks!. really worth buying meow Quote
Guest a_ozi Posted August 6, 2000 Posted August 6, 2000 Too clangy and harsh for my general tastes, although much of it will rock the night pretty well. My fave was track 7. Also i noticed something weird with this cd. Track one is repeated at the end of the album as an extension of track 8 (maybe to bump the total cd time to 78 mins therefore making it harder to make copies of the cd or something) Quote
Guest FelipeLemosBrasil Posted June 20, 2002 Posted June 20, 2002 Best tracks: Sandman, very goooood, one of the best sandman track. Activate morlack, brings a psychotic sound, full on at his best... Sinister funk track is very good too, different style, but i liked it. Underground atmosphere in this comp. Quote
