Guest Yoshi Posted February 5, 2002 Posted February 5, 2002 loving this shits, amphasis is styles ,but Syre here mentioned that the album is fast, well i don't think so it's not fast, but it's still kicks ass ,that's what matters Quote
Guest Syre Posted February 6, 2002 Posted February 6, 2002 Amphasis - Human Arrangements Artist: Amphasis Title: Human Arrangements Label: Plastic Park Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Spark 02. Jumping Jack 03. Slice 04. Speechless 05. Addicted 06. Blowjob 07. Pushtop 08. The Sense 09. Here Comes The Rain Review: Well I'm surprised no one has reviewed this excellent pumping release from Plastik Park, because it sure as hell deserves it. For people who don't know, Amphasis is also Eric Elser, and have released on several compilations before, as well as a few EPs. I'll skip the description of each track, and try to give a more overall impression. First of all this is dark groovy shit, hence being released on Plastik Park. Tribal and house elements are all over this album, and it makes for a great atmosphere. Its fast, noisy and hard beats in a groovy kind of way. People who are into minimal psy trance will love this. It has that esteemed Amphasis downhill sound, and I think it would kick ass outdoor, especially in a live act, which leads me to this question: has anyone seen him live? Lastly the last two tracks gets more laid back, while still being build up around these rough sounds -Smooth and kicking! Highlights are (1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) and 9/10 for the whole album. Quality Stuff for your collection! Quote
Setsuko Posted February 6, 2002 Posted February 6, 2002 ...hmm , OK album , but more a collection filler imo... only one great track - addicted - the rest is a bit leading to nowhere . I expected more ... but the album ends in beauty with a very nice chill-out track ... I don't like the - Speechless - track , certainly not my cup of tea... overall , not a bad release but i could have been better ... psychedelic rating : 7/10 Quote
Guest some austrian weirdo who's heart Posted February 6, 2002 Posted February 6, 2002 Amphasis tracks on compilations ruled, made quite a lot of people looking forward to that album, including me. What do we get? A piece of psy-house that makes listening to it very painful. Stay off this if you have a house allergy like me. Quote
Guest bpk Posted February 6, 2002 Posted February 6, 2002 THE BEST ALBUM for the beginning of the year 2002!! very intelligent and original, good rythm loops, trance-house style at his best!! track 4 and 5 = wonderful! 9.5/10 Quote
Guest amphasis=shit Posted February 6, 2002 Posted February 6, 2002 THIS IS SHIT At first I would like to say this album isn't goa or minimal trance . Very bad album .Thew orst I have ever heard .It's some like "bum bum bum" Maybe hard house or disco ....... Quote
GaySatanicHippie Posted February 7, 2002 Posted February 7, 2002 this is as close as it gets to techno/hardhouse in the psytrance scene. Usually when people here say "it sounds like techno" they're wrong, but here id have to agree. still good though, though the only track that gets close to "downhill" is slice, the tranciest and best track here imho. but the other ones are good, too, very slow. around 130 bpm id say, heavy hardhousey groove, but much better than your average uk shit. this has big crossover potential i think, this man has very good taste. But still, i liked the warped synthetic sound of his older stuff better. so, its good, but there could have been more tracks like "slice" i'd give it 7.5 of 10 Quote
Guest Nois Posted February 9, 2002 Posted February 9, 2002 Tech-trance is a part of a psy-trance scene. Amphasis works well on a trance dancefloor (I mean: people are dancing like hell and twists brains. Does anything more matter? I don't think so... I play it at parties as often as I can, and I still feel like a trance DJ )) Cheers Quote
Guest davidtolsn Posted March 23, 2002 Posted March 23, 2002 don't like it... i like minimal and tech trance, but this is TOO repetitive, and it's not hypnotic for me at all.. and there seems to be no psychedelic sounds, just a beat. a few of the tracks sound ok, and maybe some are ok for the dancefloor.. this is one of the very few cds on this review page that i wouldn't even call goa/psy. 3.5/10 Quote
Guest D.j Freaky Posted August 2, 2002 Posted August 2, 2002 i like minimal and psychedelic trance, this is too Good for be true, SLICE my prefer, Eric Elser´s sound and style really kicks! I always listen SLICE track Microdots Radio online. Quote
