Dajek
I think that it's very complex in many ways... but there are also downsides like boring and bad-quality percussion.. I don't also think that all tracks are equal. I like Alcyone the best and Asterope is really good too, other tracks are slightly 'worse' and TBH I don't dig Taygeta, Merope and Caleano much... But the originality and harmonic quality of this release is not to be underestimated! It is one of the landmarks in the scene.. Released in it's 'golden era' (1997 is THE year in psytrance IMO) and even if I really like only half of the album I still think it's one of the best releases.. And Alcyone is one of the best trance tracks for me. So all in all I'd give it about 8 in my subjective view. (And I have become very critical lately )

radi6404
whatcha talking about? 410795[/snapback] Do you not know the pleiadians track zeroway or zero vector or something else, it is on goa roume 1 edit i mean this track Zeta Reticuli (This track has the same high level like hallucinogen - L.S.D.), and instead electra they better had add jungle trax on this album.
Oopie
I disagree. electra is one of the gems here amongst alcyone and taygeta. zeta retaculi and jungle trax are quite murderarghs too though.
Lamat
100% goatrance indeed but this album I've listened so many times in the past and so many memories don't listen to it anymore it's a time period in my goa experience that was so cool and that's over now
Charlie
Does anybody find the Pleiadians' Family of Light album really dull? I recently bought it expecting something similar to IFO but was severely disappointed. To my ears it sounds thin, flat and lacklustre. The sounds used on any given track are too similar, there's just not enough tonal seperation between the main instruments, the background instruments, the swirls, the bleeps and the hi hats. It's as if every sound was developed within a very narrow frequency. Very tedious.
Dajek
I do. For me TFoL has only 2 or 3 tracks that are _quite_ good, but nothing really great on there, and some tracks I don't dig at all.
radi6404
is zeta retaculi a remix and if yes can you tell me who created the original? That track has blwon me away as i listen it the first time.

qa2pir
IFO is a classic. 4 of the tracks are extremely good (1,2,5,6). The only thing it misses is some emotional sparkle, which only the track "Asterope" manages to create. The last track is ambient/chillout and not as well excecuted as the others. These guys need to rely on the energy of the pulsating beat to create something exciting. Nevertheless, the 4 fantastic tracks make up for the last track. 8/10 EDIT: I've changed my mind. Tracks 3 & 4 are not as obviously melodic as the ones i referred to as "extremely good". I now consider all tracks "extremely good" except the last one. So my new rating for this album is: 9/
SkeletonMan
This album has attained almost mythical proportions. A timeless classic that is also a great album, the best Etnica/Pleiadians/Crop Circles album, the most psychedelic full-on album from the golden Goa era etc. So, is the album really this good? Yes. In fact this is probably the best example of a hyped album that lives up to the hype. While always debatable how much an album is worth, when the album arrives in your mailbox, chances are you won't be disappointed. Besides being the happy owner of a timeless piece of plastic. Closing in on its' ten years anniversary it still stands unrivalled. Filteria has given it a challenge in terms of layers, the amount of melodies and climaxes in a track (!!), and, obviously, the production. Still, it's in a class of its own. One may argue Koxbox' Forever After (from the year before) or Dragon Tales (same year) are equally amazing, but where I find I enjoy these most when I am in the mood for them, I.F.O. never fails. I must have listened to the spot in Alcyone 3:55 a thousand times and I'm still not tired of it ... Nuff said. Italy, take a bow!
long ripps
one of the best ones in my collection, a must for every lover of psychedelic music !! 9/
abasio
I like this album but I feel that I never really got into it. I prefered FOL a lot more. The music here is definately good but I think it needs a special time to fully appreciate it! Not happened yet!
Trance2MoveU
This remains an absolute classic. I would put this melodic art in my top five albums. Mdk

sleepingzombie
sounds used are always hard , but rarely harsh. How I love this style. This is balance. Almost perfect balance. You dream and you move. At the same time, you get trip and adrenaline. What a production. It seems simple in the beginning, then every listening reveals unnoticed touches of style . Where did that layer come from ? it wasn' t here in the previous 20 listenings ... amazing yes yes yes home listenings and dancefloor united together in a whole flow of beating dreams Rate : p.s. Rino, your reviews are really interesting. I'm learning a lot about goa scene from your deepenings . Thank you.
