Guest Tequila
California Sunshine - Imperia Artist: California Sunshine Title: Imperia Label: Phonokol Date: 1997 Track listing: 01. 07'15" Green Sky 02. 07'26" Break The Rules 03. 09'13" Alala (Lesson 2) 04. 09'40" The Only One 05. 09'13" The Legend 06. 08'48" Shintu Shanti 07. 07'18" Randomly 08. 07'18" Imperia 09. 07'51" Avalanche Review: This album from California Sunshine has been made in 1997 but it sounds already old. Har-Ell is probably one of the first guy who started making goa in the world, but the music is no more the same as it was in 1995.But, when we listen to this album, we really think that it has been made in 1995! Excepted that problem, the trax are good, and the melodies really enjoyable to listen to...but beware, it is old goa.Best track: Break the Rules. No Bad track. 6.5/
Guest Snow Dog
If you're looking for something uplifting, you've come to the right place. Track 1 is a little cheesy, but don't let that put you off, everything here sounds really professional and the melodies are excellent, not to mention that Har-Ell is one of Israel's oldest and most talented producers. I'll give it a 7/10.
Guest Acidhive
It may be from 1997, but this is quality melodic Goa from Israel from these guys... And yes, it's pretty cool! It starts with the great song Green Sky, then evolves slowly into the more acidic stuff (aka The Legend etc.) and ends with the great tracks Imperia and Avalanche. Though it sometimes almost sounds like more commercial trance, this is pretty good. A solid 7,5 from me here. Their following album Nasha seemed to be even better, I own some tracks of that, and I think it's a bit more diverse maybe. But, as I said, this album is pretty good too. Looking for some great melodic goa? Then this is recommended.
Jon Cocco
The Legend is decent. Track 6 is fairly dark. The Highlander and many samples are cheesy IMO. This melodic trance album sounds so dated that I don't listen to it anymore. If you like melodic goa-trance, I suggest: Astral Projection, MFG, Dimension 5. This album sounds too flat for me. Overall, many tracks on here are very repetitive at times. UPDATE - I think this is one of the weakest albums in the goa trance genre.
