Guest Space Ninja
V/A - Interact Artist: Various Title: Interact Label: MDMA Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Groove Manipulation : Dim Du Mim 02. Perplex : White Widow 03. PREX : Info 04. Sesto Sento : O.B Beats 05. Skazi : Passion 06. GMS And DJ Dede : Whoosh! 07. Exaile : Tied Up 08. Space Buddha : Granulate Fungi 09. Shulman : Small Grey Creatures Review: Well, this was the last compilation released by MDMA before it bankrupted. You can spot the tracks recycling on this compilation. Third of the tracks were already released. The first and the fourth track were released on MDMA’s Joker Files 2 and 8th track was released on Shulman’s debut album. So here we go: 1.Groove Manipulation are Paul Marks??, DJ Micha and DJ Dede. This track called Dimdumim (Twilight in Hebrew) is filler, which starts nicely but doesn’t really lift off. 2. Perplex – White Widow is progressive/full on hybrid. From the boring kind. It takes the worse of the genres and mixes it to 7 minutes of time waste. Track 3 is PREX with Info. Not my cup of tea really, and I can’t see how this track fits in the compilation. 4. Sesto Sento – O.B. Beats. Finally some light on this compilation. Not their best piece but nice nevertheless. Next is 5. Skazi with Passion. Don’t know how he conceived this track title but I think it should be called “Boredom”. Skip! 6. are GMS with Dede and it’s a good one. Very dark and spooky atmosphere that reminds me a lot Delta’s early stuff. Pleasant surprise by Growling Scientists there. Next up is Exaile with “Tied Up” and it’s a killer! Pure Full on madness. This is the first Exaile track that I hear and I want more! 8 is Space Buddha with Granulate Fungi. I don’t know what they mean by that name by this track is quite weird. It somewhat differs from other full on that goes today and it sounds more like the ol’ school Goa than your usual GMS clone. Anyways it’s production sounded quite awkward but I think that we can expect some interesting stuff from Space Buddha in the future. The compilation ends with Shulman’s “Small Grey Creatures”. It’s a great tune for the end but unfortunately I had it already from Shulman’s album. Overall rating: 5/10 Very weak compilation with the exception of tracks 4,6,7! and the oldie 9! Guest Psydark Light
Space Ninja ,nice review. mdma stuffs was great in the PAST, too bad they gone . anyway, this is inferior Compilation ,too regular sounds. I couldn't listen even twice to most of the tracks , boredom IMO. however ,"O.B Beats" by "Sesto Sento" is very nice tune. "GMS And DJ Dede" with "Whoosh!" this one is the best of this Compil.. overall - didn't like what I heard in this compilation but you may find it very nice CD. RATING- 6.8/10 . Favorites: 4,6 . Guest Aeon
Not to knock this comp down any further - but Whoosh! was released on Pure MDMA 2 and the Exaile track was released on Shaffel records excellent "Zoo" comp. Not to mention "Passion" is from Skazi's second album. Too bad about MDMA bankrupting though, I think releases like this must have been a contributing factor - If they had released half as many albums with ALL NEW material every time maybe this could have been avoided...
