Anoebis
V/A - Interzone Artist: Various Title: Interzone Label: Interzone Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Pulse : Good Morning 02. Paste : Bassliner 03. XV Kilist : Stampfers Schleiers 04. Smith : Disco 2000 05. Prime Time Plastix : Brett Pop 06. Amphiptere : Mutant 07. Bone : Hackers 08. Shai : Rattlechain Review: Here we have once again a new label, this time one from Suisse!! And they deliver us a véry minimalistic CD, sometimes even too minimalistic!! Most of the songs sound the same, fat bassline and very techno-ish psychedelic noises on that, and that for 7 minutes... Not really my style, too boring after all, specially that XV Killist song is BAD!! Normally it's one of the best Minimalistic groups, but this song is véry boring!! The best song is prime Time Plastix!! I think it's because of the golden hand of Daniel Vernuft (Shiva Chandra) => he knows how to make véry good minimalistic Trance... On a normal day this gets a 5/10, sometimes (when I'm in Minimalistic mood) a 6,5/10! Bom Shankar

Guest [Anonymous]
I think this compilation is great and far from boring. I actually find it very engaging. The previous two reviewers obviously have different preferences. I agree that the XV Kilist track is the weakest here, but everything else is very nice. Especially the second part of the CD - very psychedelic! I personally love the Bone track. Did you guys listen to this on a good soundsystem/headphones? Guest [Anonymous]
I agree with anonymous... I was listening to this album with two people who had very limited exposure to the psy-trance and minimal-psy worlds... They loved, I loved it... in fact most tracks were really amazing! Once again I'll agree that the XV Kilist track is the weakest - but that's one so-so song out of 8! I really liked this CD and so did my buddies... one of the better comps to come out recently (yes better than Catcher and Eskimo and the rest.) Guest steps_beyond[at]hotmail[dot]com
Probably the best compilation (together with Progopoly from Plastic Park Records) this year so far on the progressive side of trance. Excellent selection of tracks, suprisingly good new projects- a great start for Interzone !!
Jeto
Highlights will definatly be the Prime Time Platix! Also Pulse - Good Morning... Nice debut compilation from Interzone!
Guest russ
This is one of the best compilations of the past year. There is nothing minimal about this. I wonder why all these self-professed "full-on only" goa lovers bother to write reviews about music like this. This music is incredibly detailed, but you need to smoke up to hear it. My favorites are the last four--all dark, deep, and mean. The Bone track sounds like it uses some spatial 3d imaging software. Sit right between a nice pair of speakers, and you will notice these little sounds in the 1st two minutes coming from behind you! Wicked! And then the "chainsaw" followed by the melody in the Shai track! Wicked! For good ears and good sound systems only. 10/10!
Guest TRISTAN
wtf? XV Kilist is THE progressive monster! The best I've heard for AGES!
shahar@isratrance
Well, I was a bit disappointed with this one, but it's a first purely Swiss psytrance compilation, and shows future. Progressive is the word as was said, but some tracks don't really progress too much. My favorites here: Paste, Smith, Prime Time Plastix & Ampheptere. XV Killist in one of his weakest tracks for me. Also the standard of sound is goes up and down here.
Guest Acidhive
Mmm.. What can I say that hasn?t been said? Well, nothing really. So I?ll just give my opinion about this one. Progressive monster/minimalistic and dark tracks. All tracks on this one kick ass, although I agree the XV Kilist track could?ve been better. (somewhat at least) This cd starts with the great Good Morning track which is dark and funky. Next 3 songs are really minimalistic, but with good grooves. Starting from number 5 it?s getting a whole lot darker again and it pumps forth until the last track... I really liked the Amphiptere track. Somehow it?s so dark it almost scares me. ;-) haha ..!! Hoping to hear more from the new guys appearing on this comp!! Salutations to DJ Creator and a solid 8/10 here!
Guest progress
XV Kilist's track is the BEST on the CD!!!! It is a KILLER Progressive track... this is the kind of track that will GRIND the dancefloor into a stomping mess of chaotic mayhem... This is what minimal progressive is all about!! Sure it's not busy with psychadelic sounds (although they are layered in here & there), but the beats & bassline make it a serious rocking track. It's the subtleties of minimal progressive that make it what it is.. it's not supposed to be 'busy'!!
Guest rah[at]swissonline[dot]ch
this one's my favourite compilation of all time...it's very great, pure minimalistic sound that never gets boring! especially the xv kilist track is a boosting milestone in the history of progreissve/minimal psytrance. paste's baseliner is my alltime favourite track...uh i love this record! Guest Musashi
Last two tracks are masterpieces , taking minimal to new levels of creativeness, lots of changes in those tracks, perfect for the morning a evolution in trance music seems to me.
