Review:

Is this a "Best Of"- Astral Projection? It does seem like that, considering the

fact that they have put 12 tracks on his album that are already released.

Well, putting that aside, I must say that the masters of trance-music have

done some great remixes of old tracks, especially the remix of Flying Into A

Star, a great atmospheric track that really captures the feeling in the title.

To sum up about the remixes: Really good ones, don´t need any new inventions

'cause they are remixes, and very good on the technical side.

The new tracks? Well, there are four of them, four very good tracks although I

would have expected more tracks and more new things. But, still, very good

tracks that are typically Astral Projection (maybe not "Burning Up", but still

great).

Summary: 8/10

If you want a review of this album you'd better read the reviews of the former

albums!

Good things: new tracks, although not spectacular. Typical AP style.

Bad things: everything is mixed (bhwaaargl) and the Trilithon or Floorplay

collaborations are awful.

I can say I liked AP, but at the sight of this thing, I cant help thinking that

this is only a matter of money for Trust in Trance And AP. Why isn't it a

brand new not mixed album? If AP are tired, they'd beter not release anything

like that And wait to have new ideas!

I must add that I didnt buy this album, and only listened to it.

In other words, if you don't know Astral Projection, please buy this album And

take this 7/10, if you already have the former albums, there's no interest,

so...only 2/10.

well, if you like astral projection (old projects) its very cool, and a real

collectors item. if you dont know astral projection then buy it!, this album

presents what astral projection gave to the psychedelic/goa trance scene over

the last 6 years!. i didnt really like the new tracks, and this album is

mixed. as i wrote before, this is a collectors item and presents astral

projection in their old (good) times and now days...

I've wait for a long time to have this CD !

I'm very disapointed by this CD !!

The remixes are equal to the original or bad like Liquid

Sun remix !

There are 4 new tracks but only Axis Vo.99 is very good.

Electrostatic is too short and it uses exacty the same sounds as Andromeda :((

So, if you already have all their albums : 4 / 10 !!

But if you don't, it worth the investisment : 8 / 10 !!

So I expect that AP will make another great stuff like

Dancing Galaxy !!

I think the aim of this compil is to win money..

EXCELLENT work from astral projection. All the classic are here and extremely

well mixed. The remix are goods except the "Cass And Slide Rework" that really

sucks. Domestic have done again an excellent work. The new tracks are pretty

good except the last one on CD2 that is too cheezy and don't have a place on

this CD in my own opinion. 9/10 for this perfectly mixed compilation.

well, it seems it got pretty messy here, who want's an album with half songs,

badly remixed and with only 4 new songs! I must admit they're spreading shame

over the trance-scene. If you want to hear AP in their real condition, take my

advice and buy TiT3.

Its a great cd, the mixing is flawless, all the classics are there, 2 cds for

the price of 1, no new innovative breakthrough but so what , they have the

largest audience in the world and they wanna make the $$..but now who doesn't

and whos gonna question them about the issue.

A great cd: Astral Projection - ' music to trance galaxies!'

well, while i didnt think that ap sold out with "another world", i totally

agree that they did it with this one. come on guys! 4 new tracks on 2 cds? and

those tracks aren't all great either! plus its all mixed...i didn't even

bother to buy this one: it's a shame for trance to be going in this direction,

and it's even a bigger shame that astral projection, one of the bands who

invented this genre, are leading the way! ap, i think you guys really betrayed

your fans with this release. i heard the new album is in the works: hopefully

there will be an improvement, but while i do hope so, something tells me i

will be disappointed...guess we'll have to wait and see. 2/10 for this effort,

only because of all the classic tracks for people who don't already have them.

the new tracks only deserve 1/10: what's up with "axis v0.99"...are you guys

making club trance now? shame!

update: just heard "burning up", which was the only track i didn't hear from

this cd, and...it sucks! big time! so simple, such uninspired melodies: come

on guys, is astral projection a euro-trash band? certainly didn't start out

that way! these guys still are one of the most influential bands in trance

history, and their outstanding previous work still keeps them among my

all-time top 5, but they need to stop! i like all their older stuff, up to and

including "another world" and even the remix of "god is a dj", but this here

is too much: the new tracks are pure crap! it hurts to see once such a

powerful trance-machine reduced to this awful, trendy sound.

!!!

You ARE all wrong, because you review it as an Album insted of what it is -a

compilation!!! I don't think there are ANY bad tracks at this cd (exept

Burning Up) They just made a compilation of all their best songs, it's not an

album, so please stop reviewing it as one

i have to give it up for AP not being just another one of those

dark-and-stormy-dime-a-dozen trance groups that everyone likes but the style

eventually does get old :) i love their uplifting style and beautiful

melodies... that said i wish they really would be out a NEW album, altho this

is a define must have for those w/o any astral projection, or need a pair of

cds to stomp up a dancefloor :) most of the remixes are very good, and the

new songs KICK! burning up is crazy good (altho not true to their usual form),

and axis, electro static and virtual boost are worth buying the album for, and

the mixing is indeed flawless :)

--and stop complaining about "another world" that album was amazing and

absolutely gorgeous, i STILL listen to it quite often and i got it last year,

which says a lot for AP...

to AP - keep up the good work, and give us a new album thatll make the whiners

shut up (we all know you can)

Great mixes. It reminds me so many souvenirs. :) But one thing, what is the

point with the 'uplifting trance' shit? Floorplay is gay, we don't want much

of this crap. And what's next with Transient, I'm afraid. Whatever, if you

don't know Astral Projection then you sould buy this double CD. 8.5/10.

Sure, its mostly previously released stuff but, some new mixes. But, its two

hours of continuous mix AP, that alone should tell you its worth getting. 7/10

Okay, I'm gonna be fair because AP was how I got into trance and I still have a

lot of respect for them, but this album is hurt! First, not only the remixes

aren't good as original tracks, they're really weak. Especially the "Liquid

Sun remix." This track is just sooo whatever. They put this on "Transport

3", which is such a shame 'cause it doesn't even resemble the original track.

I thought this album was gonna be like a live set, but no. It's just all

their tracks mixed intro-outro. Isn't that kinda boring? Oh, and how the CD

is mixed, it sounds more like progressive than goa. It almost sounds like

it's being played in a club. The new tracks are all whatever except for maybe

"Axis" but even that's kinda weak compared to previous AP tracks. I saw them

a few months before this came out and they were soooo fucking good! I don't

know why they released such a whatever album. If you are a serious AP/Trance

listner, then don't even bother with "Burning Up." It is straight up cheese.

It's so cheesey it hurts. Since they made a huge contribution to the scene,

they're allowed to release a bad album, but this is aimed for the mainstream.

I really think that AP should make a pilgrimage back to Goa and figure some

shit out. I love them to death and I have sooo much respect for them, I just

hope they're not going down the rock-star path... If you wanna get into AP,

then just buy all their old albums...it's ten times better.

IMHO, if I was absolutely new to Astral Projection and I was some sort of

clubbing maniac, I'd say "Hey, this album really rocks!", and it could be my

slide away from clubs to psytrance. I am only 16, I don't go clubbing often,

and when I heard this album I looked at it from the reverse prospective...

that of a psytrancer looking at a CD aimed for clubbers. The way I see it, if

I had time to listen to this CD for its whole 3 hours with my eyes closed, all

the tracks, then it may even be quite good. As it is, I listened to it while

doing other things, and I have to say that although the mixing of the tracks

is near flawless, each track has lost that AP feeling. They are all remixes

(some better than others), and it appears that the whole album is just a money

making scheme which AP and TiT records creamed up. It is degrading my opinion

of Astral Projection slowly, and will continue to do so unless they release

another GOOD album pronto. Overall, since I own every AP album ever created,

this one is at the bottom of the AP list, but it is still above a lot of other

psytrance I have. If you are a clubber, listen to this and convert to the

beautiful tones of psytrance.

Well.We are now at the battlefront between the old AP and the new AP.I

basically "grew" up with Astral Projection and Trust in Trance 3. My first

contact with

psychedelia was AP and although personally I feel that

they have lowered the quality of their songs,I still

have some respect for these guys and their early contribution to this scene.

First of all, bear in mind that this is more a compiliation rather than a new

album,

so for us old fans, there no reason to open your wallet for this cd. Why?

Because the remixes are ordinary as hell and there are only 4 new songs which

can not be compared to old classics. And it's not that they've changed their

style. No,its still this uplifting, maximalistic trance that in early days got

a

worldwide popularity. Axis VO.99 is the only one that

has substance of the new ones. However,if you are new to this scene and hunger

for a quick introduction to Israeli morning-trance or wishing intensly for AP

to show up at Ministry of Sound, this should be your "one to buy".Finally,I am

getting worried that their musical

development will result in: From "Trust in Trance" to

"In Trance we Trust".

For creativity: 2/10 For the mixes old ones: 5/10

I think this Cd is worth every damned penny you spend on it. The mixing between

tracks are just too good. Who wouldnt want all the best AP tracks of 1 or 2

cds instead of switching between 5 [previous albums] CDs? Amazing set. The new

trax rock too. Way cool AP. Keep it up but dont release another Remixes album

please. I am dying to hear something new from you :))

what is compressor talking about?!?!?!? The Cass And Slide rework is a complete

bastardization of the original song, which is 1000000000 times better. As a

club trance track, its good, but it simply can't compare to the original

version

I think the sunrise songs are way better than the sundown ones.. I really liked

the Dancing Galaxy remix, almost a cross between the original and ambient

galaxy... O.K this may not be dancing galaxy, but it is still a good

compilation to have, and for someone who has not heard their sound as yet,

well this is the best introduction,,,

AP still rules, though a blasting new release is what i crave for.. it would

make all these detractors shut up.. remember trust in AP they are the gurus of

trance.

if there was a way to get our hands on the Trust In Trance releases here in

Canada, i'd buy those instead, but i gave up and got myself 'in the mix'(used,

at least ;) i must say this is VERY GOOD shite, even if it's slightly on the

commercial side. Bad Tracks: 'liquid sun' and 'another world' remixed, of

course. great new stuff: the other remixes and the new tracks. i must admit i

don't understand the purpose of this release (unless Astral are looking in

another direction for future releases, i.e. MORNING TRANCE)

My opinion...I think it's very cool that AP have mixed their best tracks into

two long party cds, that just keeps going and going and the remixes and the

new tracks ain't that bad. Why you guys get disappointed is probably because

you expected some new trend-setting stuff that would take the scene by storm,

and if you really expected that, then you should be disappointed. Someone says

this is commecial shit and ap is only up for the money, well, we all like to

make money, and if you had the opportunite, wouldn't you? The main thing for

you guys is that your favorite band stays cool and underground (I know, you

cant say that about AP), so that you can act real cool and tell all your

friends that you listen to a underground psytrancegoatechno 24-7drug band from

Israel. AP got you into goatrance and they just continue in the same style,

without following that wierdo evolvment this scene is in. This is very

danceable melodic morningtrance at it's best, and for me that's the essentiel

thing in music, so this is just the greatest. Many claim TiT3 to be very near

perfection, this is totally the same style, so whats wrong with it? They

havn't evolved? Is evovling = good music? Just because this scene evovles at

maybe the fastest speed the music-industry has ever seen, does all parts of

this scene have to evovle at this insane speed? And actually, I think they

have evolved, you can hear the better production and talent. And please, no

more of those "commercial shit, 0/10!" shit! This is a review for christsake!

Anyway, I give 8/10 for this fine piece!

All I can say is this is the BEST goa trance album of 2000. True it contains

the majority of their earlier stuff but all the songs sound different,

clearer, better produced and reworked. The bass line in power gen at the 330

mark just destroys all the competition. This track truly provides you with so

much energy its unbelievable. All in all this AP album kicks ass, AP are still

the best goa trance has to offer, and time and time again Israel proves that

it is a leader in trance innovation. The only downside to the album are track

8 and 10 on CD1, which i would have left off the album. My recommendation for

everyone who truly appreciates this genre of trance is to buy it! Isratrance

and astral projection rule!!!!
