psychotronic Posted March 26, 2002 Posted March 26, 2002 Finally!!!!! the fifth x-dream album is released you should buy this album!!!!!!!i can't breathe!!!10/10 Quote
Guest psygroove Posted March 26, 2002 Posted March 26, 2002 Although I enjoy to see so much euphoria concerning the new X-Dream, I would like to talk about the other side of this album. Actually when I first listened to this album, I did not like it at all. I own all the former X-Dream albums, and expected something more harmonic. Do not get me wrong on this one, there are interesting and powerful parts in the first 5 tracks, but the rest is something that only causes stress in my head, it's more like some acid techno taken to the extreme. Definitely you should give this album a try, but if you are a big fan of the old X-Dream and didn't like the last Delta that much be aware you might be dissapointed. Listen first and deceide if it's your cup of tea afterwards. I won't buy it, but I will respect it :-] Only 6/10 (because I am a disappointed oldschool fanatic) Quote
Insejn Posted March 27, 2002 Author Posted March 27, 2002 X-Dream - Irritant Artist: X-Dream Title: Irritant Label: Nova Tekk Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 08'25" Irritant 02. 07'45" Rewind 03. 08'00" No Process 04. 07'12" Thorazin 05. 08'35" Peters Hoover 06. 06'08" Fall Out (Dong Edit) 07. 07'31" Universal Chaos 08. 07'22" Intercorporal Stimulator 09. 05'14" Magic Moment (Rmx) 10. 04'01" All Rights Reserved Review: Wow! Extremly powerful album. Like a mix of The Delta and X-Dream - Radio. Just slightly minimal. Strong beats all the time. Wicked synths and those pauses are just awesome. The last two tracks are more groovy and experimentel. Anyway...I just think everyone should get this, if you want a 'heavy' album. I can't wait to play it LOUD :-) I think Tharorazin is the best track here. WOWOWOWWOWOWWWAAAA! Final Verdict: 8/10 Quote
Guest Arthur Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 YESSS..!!! Finally the LEADERS of supperb psychedelia are back in action! I just cant stop listening to this masterpiece!! Fallout, Peeters hoooooooverrr, Rewind, Universe in Chaos....,,ahhhh EVERY TRACK is fucking ANTHEM Quote
Guest didge Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 really hard arse shite! i really love this album, half of it like the old x-dream, the other like the delta - who in the hell can complain with that! best tracks Fallout (wow), Universe in Choas and Peters hoover. 9/10 and x-dream will be strutting their stuff in melbourne soon - i for one, cannot wait! Guest gnome[at]shpongle[dot]com Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 This is NOT X-Dream,,,This is not Trippy ok its their new style, some people say its a progress but im really dissapointed,,,anyway X-Dream Are Gods for me,this album wont change my opinion Quote
Guest [Anonymous] Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 minimal bullshit, nothing to see with radio. a copy of new delta stuff, shitty, empty, null Quote
Guest Rough and Rush Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 Nahh load of minimalist bollox really-appreciate their production but if you think this is better than the glory days of 97-99 you obviously wern't around and Im talking about Solipse and Vortex. Coming soon, and Brainforest were it, call this progression ?????????????? Quote
hujaboy Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 My favorite cd for 2002 so far. Griding tech-trance, a mixture between the old x-dream sound and the new techy,bit-crushery, industial german style.8/10 Quote
Guest bauer[at]scheune[dot]net Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 amazing stuff for me ! but will be really a dissapointment for the old x-dream fans . this sounds more like the delta . but if you liked the last delta album then this is a must buy ! best tracks imo 2,7!!!!,8 . 9,9/10 Quote
Guest [Anonymous] Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 very nice cd, comes with a sticker too!!!hehe bom Quote
Guest Dino Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 Some months ago wheen I heard there was going to be released a new x-dream I thought it would be disepointing but lucky me I was way wrong. Very good album! Not as psychadelic as old x-dream albums but not as minimalistic as Delta either. Very nice synthlines and a nice pounding beat. Still has some of that complexity that we are used to with x-dream. I think its a very good blend between psy and minimalistic. And since its x-dream it sure is a 'must have' as always with them Quote
Guest Fuck It Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 This Album really suck. Where is the X-Dream? Quote
Guest good yo Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 7.5/10 because not all the tracks are not killers.. Quote
Guest matt Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 This album could actually have been released as a "Delta" album, cuz that is what it sounds like, from beginning to the end, no exception. If you expect X-Dream stuff as on previous albums and don't like the Delta much, save your money. Quote
Guest Ma$e Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 this album in my opinion is hard, cutting edge stuff...sounds like x-dream 'developed' rather than takin a different approach. it is imossible to make another radio album. where would we be if artisits continued with a sound that has already been tried and tested? nowhere. This album is good. nuff said Quote
Guest GoaGabba Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 X-Dream, mmmm! It was clear to me before I heard this CD, that this album would be leaning more towards the Tech-Trance side of things. The album on a whole, has some very dark gothic overtones. Esp songs like, 3,5,6 and 7. You can hear that Marcus (Delta), is throwing in a lot of his influences over the past few years. But as said above, it is not entirely Delta influenced, but has that X-Dream layer magic here and there. It's not full on, and definately not morning tunes, these should be dropped before the sun rises. May be too dark, and too minimal for some, but if you dig your Authentik, Spirallianz, 3.Turn, Delta, this will be right up your back path. So from me a nice 8/10, but I would appreciate some more trippy moments in the music. BOM and PLUR to everyone and thing. Quote

Guest moander[at]media[dot]mit[dot]edu Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 what ever happened to classics like freak, second room, trip to transylvania... sucks donky dick, if you want heavy trance, get the new wizzy noise instead Quote
Guest Stormbringer Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 Madmen in warzones will hook up huge speakers on their tanks and use the sound of "Peters Hoover" instead of grenades ;-) Rough and Rush... What have you done ;-) Quote
Guest --==Miles==-- Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 Excellent blend between -Radio-(the 1998 pater familias of minimal) and -Send in...-. Its a tech-trance hybrid but way more accesible and melodic than the average underground minimal release. That -Universal Chaos- has some hitpotential, sounding not that much more street credible than for example fellow Germans U-96 and that -Rewind- sounds just like -Psychomachine- is forgivable. This is an adequate release which surely doesn't disappoint but also heavily exposes the business-as-usual tag. People expecting the next step in psy-evolution therefore better stick to the Digital Structures label. 8/10 Nevertheless... Quote
Guest tested Posted March 27, 2002 Posted March 27, 2002 PEETERS HOOVER IS THE BEST TRACK THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE Quote
