Guest Gustav
V/A - Israel's Psychedelic Trance 3 Artist: Various Title: Israel's Psychedelic Trance 3 Label: Trust In Trance Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 09'02" Astral Projection : Cosmic Ascension Remix 02. 07'38" Xerox And Freeman : Eternal March 03. 08'29" Domestic And Goblin : Tripnotized 04. 07'00" MFG : Psychic Resonator 05. 08'33" Children Of The Doc : Welcome Friends 06. 08'37" Domestic : Amateur Gynecologist 07. 08'32" Per Plex : Per Plex 08. 07'25" Har-Ell Prussky : Running Horses (Morning Mix) 09. 08'32" Oforia : Big Bang (Ambient Mix) Review: The compilation launches off with a remix of Cosmic Ascension by themselves. A quality track, but nothing beneath the usual. I've never been a fan of the stiff stuff from Xerox (& Freeman) and the track featured here doesn't suprise me even vaguely. "Tripnotized" is a real killer, psychedelica at its best; a driving bass, a lot of layered beautiful noises and a floating melody. Yummie. The MFG track featured here must be one of the most freaky song I've heard. It leaves you spinning on the floor, slobbering in confusion. Nevertheless a great track. 5th track boring - uncommented. The second psychedelic thingie from Domestic; also very, very good. "Per Plex" sounds like a debut track. Pretty good, strange I haven't heard more from them though.. "Running horses" contains good elements, but gets a little boring due to lack of variation. A great psychedelic pseudo-ambient mix by Oforia rounds off this compilation just perfectly. Buy this! Guest [Anonymous]
Track 1: okay, the orignial is better Track 2&3: not my thing Track 4: flat, their album "New Kind of World" is awesome though, buy that album Track 5&6: crap Track 7: excellent, my absolute favorite track on this album, has a part near the end that is mindblowing Track 8: took my a couple of listens, but it's good Track 9: is called "ambient mix" but still danceable, very nice track, I have never heard the original mix Overall not a great album. Track 1 is good if you don't have "Dancing Galaxy". Tracks 2 thru 6 are basically crap. Tracks 7-9 are all good. Fuck, I wish you could just pay for the songs you like. I don't regret buying this album because I very much like 3 songs on it, but the rest...If you've got money to burn, buy it. If, like me, you think $30 plus tax is a lot of money to spend on a piece of plastic, then don't buy it. You can get more good tune for your buck elsewhere. Trance2MoveU
Artist: Various Title: Israels Psychedelic Trance Vol. 3 Label: Trust In Trance Records Date: 1998 01. 09'02" Astral Projection : Cosmic Ascension Remix02. 07'38" Xerox And Freeman : Eternal March03. 08'29" Domestic And Goblin : Tripnotized04. 07'00" MFG : Psychic Resonator05. 08'33" Children Of The Doc : Welcome Friends06. 08'37" Domestic : Amateur Gynecologist07. 08'32" Per Plex : Per Plex08. 07'25" Har-Ell Prussky : Running Horses (Morning Mix)09. 08'32" Oforia : Big Bang (Ambient Mix) This series was one of my first forays into psychedelic trance. Israel...seemed so exotic and mysterious. Gave me the sense that Israel was the Mecca of synthesizer and electronic music. As a Duran Duran fan (I can admit it) they had a track called Tel-Aviv which only heightened my level of interest in Israel. Back then I didn't know goa from psy, but was enthralled by those scales and melodies. Trust In Trance was Astral Projection's label so you knew what you were gonna get with this compilation. Cosmic Ascension Remix- This is just a cacophony of awesome. It never stops or even slows down. Perfect track to enjoy in the sunshine. Eternal March- Good, but too much time spent riding the bass line. Of course I wouldn't want to follow that blaster of a track either. Triptonized- This was a stormer that I had never heard before. Even when the beat dropped out the leads were scathing. Psychic Resonator- Not their best, but still sparkly and shiny. Welcome Friends- I found this to be the weakest yet, but still it's not terrible. I think the wobbly 303 saved it for me. Amateur Gynecologist- I know as me we like to fancy ourselves as amateur gynecologists, but would you really want that? Let me tell you it would be a lot less Heidi Klum and much more Queen Elizabeth. But this track was psychedelically juicy with bubbles and squirts coming from all directions. There are speed changes and some big growl. This. Is Psytrance. Per Plex- Before he made a career out of brainless full-on Ronen actually was capable of a psychedelic hard on. Nothing like the detail in the last track, but you wouldn't think this was the same guy who was behind every album he ever produced. Running Horses (Morning Mix)- Oh crap. Just because the word horses is in the title doesn't mean you must have a galloping bass line. But rather than disappointing it actually blossoms into something tolerable. And with Har-Ell I did not see that coming. Big Bang (Ambient Mix)- Not ambient per se it has a good bounce to it. Mysterious and calming at the same time. Really good compilation with some stomping goa trance from some of the best in the business. I'd buy it. Mdk
