Fools And Tools are Planet BEN and Markus C. Maichel, no introduction

needed. This collaboration is something extra! Planet BEN the expert

on grinding rhythms, and Markus C. Maichel, 50% of X-Dream, made these

two classics in 1998. Both "Itchy And Scratchy" (10/10) and "Hundreds Of

Sunsets" (10/10) are incredible stuff that would still sound fresh if

released today. In small print on the cover they write: "A serving of

138 BPM twisted F.A.T. provides at least 100% of the recommended nightly

allowance (RNA) of: deep, minimal & psychodelic techno". Hmm? Isn´t that

the "new" sound of 2000/2001? Ha ha! No question about that these

fellows were (and still are) in the absolute frontline of creating new

exciting music. Both tracks are slow and monotonous but they keep

building in intensity all the way to the end, and they got that little

extra that very few minimal psytrance tracks have. I just love when the

music gets more and more intense towards a climax. Is this 12" one of

the earliest releases mixing techno and psytrance into some psy-techno

hybrid? I think so! Hmm... now it´s time to put it back into my

high-security vault. I sure don´t want to lose this gem :-)
