Guest malbat23[at]yahoo[dot]co[dot]uk
V/A - Kamaflage Artist: Various Title: Kamaflage Label: Dragonfly Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Prometheus : White Sands 02. Bill And Seb : Into The Light 03. Purple : Money Shot 04. Zen Lemonade : Brazil Mon Amour 05. Green Oms : Freakuency Fiasco 06. 2BU : Supernatural 07. Hopefiend : Metafizik 08. Ticon : Lo-Mi-Hi 09. 12 Moons : Northern Star Review: Well,as it says on the Dragonfly site ,this is 'going to raise a few eyebrows' in Psytrance circles. This is only for the open-minded, I suggest,as it's certainly not going to please those waiting for a return to Dragonfly's roots. This seems to me to be Progressive house with a touch of trance.Although technically precise, most of the album lacks the drive that I look for in music and certainly would not make me dance with much enthusiasm. The nearest thing on the fringes of my collection I can compare it to is Cass' mix CD2 on Re-evolution no1,but I much prefer that. Slappy kick drums, housey hi-hats,"groovy" rhythms, only some trippy sounds- this is going to played more often at the Ministry of Sound and Cream than Tyssen Street { maybe at some extremely fluffy morning party}.It only really picks up the pace with track 5 after some unremarkable{sorry Seb and Gus, I usually love your stuff} and inoffensive tunes but then heads for the end in patchy style.Difficult to imagine who's going to be that excited about what's on offer here.A bold {financially driven ?}but flawed experiment. Too much light and not enough darkness, unlike the Rhinos who seem to have got the balance right. I would have preferred to have liked this, but I can't see me hanging on to it for long.Haven't got a lot of details about the artists as I have only got a promo copy with no artwork.Check out the Dragonfly site. Guest flypsyhigh[at]goatrance[dot]com
and you shagbag are as critical as the rest of us in your own way, so stop limiting yourself. I generally agree with top reviews, although still might groove in the arvo hours, or at home. Green oms rock thehouse on this 1.

Guest Syre
Worth getting for White Sands only, but the rest is GOOD too. You need this. ;-)
Setsuko
i realy like this cd (much better than kamaflage 2) ... the tracks have this housy funky smooth touch i like to dance on ... this a release for the moments when you'r fed up with this hard and pumping aggressive psytrance ... it kinda gives you a very relaxed feeling ... it makes you happy ... highlights are 1,2(!),8 and 9 but the rest is also very good ... i give this 8/10 ... this is refreshing , if you're looking for something more smooth then do not hesitate and try kamaflage. Guest sonic-groove
This is one of the best progressive house Cd´s I´ve ever heard, not all in this live has to be dark to be good. I like it very much
Guest :) tokyo scene is saiko!!!!
i paid 300 yen ($3) for kamaflage 1 and 2 together, and although i do not regret the purchase, i wouldn't have paid much more for this rather dissapointing combo.
