Polar Drops : Tribal 02. Wrecked Machines : Lost In Osaka 03. Wrecked Machines : Disco Fill 04. Spectral Skunk : Imperfections 05. Polaris : Alien Species 06. Spectral Skunk : Immersion (Rmx) 07. Burn And Noise : Cheech And Chong 08. Cyrus The Virus And DJ Poli : Dragonpoll-Z 09. Wrecked Machines : Born Bad Review: The first brazilian release to enter the psynews archives, i think. And what a nice debut! The compilation begins with a french duo. Polar Drops are Frederic Canaux and Arnauld Stengel. Tribal, as the name says, has a lot of tribal percussions during the whole track. Pretty interesting, but ok bassline. Nothing new, just a nice track. Good sample too. Best part of track comes after a tribal session, at 5:28. A fat bassline enters and continues till the end. 7,5/10. Track 2 is a brazilian producer, Gabriel "Gabe" Serrasqueiro, that goes under the name Wrecked Machines. He's signed to Etnica.net and is probably going to release his first album soon. His first track here is Lost In Osaka, a groovy and very interesting track. One of the highlights, IMHO. The bassline is very good, effects going through the track are cool and it's a very good track for every dj set. Very twisted samples going on. 8,5/10. Track 3 is another Gabe production, called Disco Fill. Begins extremely well, very night oriented track. The bassline is as good as Lost In Osaka. Very fast and wicked kicks and drums. Impossible to listen it without jumping all around. Everytime that the track makes a small stop, the bassline comes stronger. The last minute is practically a massacre. 8,75/10. Track 4 is another brazilian producer, Roberto Neto, that goes under the name Spectral Skunk, and contributes with two tracks in this compilation. First one is Imperfections, a groovy track, with very interesting drums and effects. Spectral Skunk has called a lot of attention lately with his live acts, and this track does him a lot of justice, showing that he's got a lot of potential. I'll keep an eye on him. 7,5/10. Track 5 is Polaris (Arnauld Stengel), half of the Polar Drops duo. Track begins with interesting sample and ok bassline. The effects going on are very outer spacey. 7/10. Track 6 is Spectral Skunk again, this time with Immersion RMX. It begins without an introduction, taking you immediately inside the turbillion. Very very twisted track. The drums combined with the bassline bring us a very groovy and psychedelic style, one of his very own. 8/10. Track 7 is another brazilian producer, the third in this compil. Gustavo Manfroni, known as Burn 'n Noise, deliver us an excellent track, sampling the "smoke-duo", Cheech & Chong. Very psychedelic track, hard and full-on. It's almost 8 minutes of brain-hammering. 8/10. Track 8 is a dutch collab, Austin Matkin and Janwillem Bot. Interestin track, with a touch of old melodic psytrance. Just a touch. Maybe the synth line . 7,5/10. Last one is the third track from Wrecked Machines, and what a closing for this comp. Absolutely killer, the best track from this comp, faaaaar from doubt. Based on a sample from Natural Bornkillers, this track has an atmosphere, a fat and fast bassline, very well constructed sequences and the samples come exactly when needed. Perfect for that psy-climax of every good dj set, very night oriented. I guess i was boooorn, naturally boooorn, booorn baaaaaad. Yeeeehaaaaa *jump jump jump jump*. 9,5/10. I got it for 10 reais, that means something like 3 dollars... but this must be VERY rare in europe or us. Maybe it's available on soulseek, or through any internet shop. Very recommended. Highlights are 2, 3, 6 and 9 (!!!). After all, this comp get a solid 8/10 from me.
Jalliuz
Kicking and psychedelic! Worth the money. Best song for me is nr 6 Spectral skunk, then nr5,7,9 If you like skazi, parasence etc this would be something for you. Like slave2rave says, on some songs you just can't sit down. It's like torture
