Lunar Asylum is a realy good album.Nice melodies, beautiful sounds, and a

the album.

The best track is clearly Van Halen, one of the best track of goatrance.7/10

Well, overall a good album : nothing bad here. My favourites are Vanishing

Point, Twister and, of course, Van Halen. Begins slowly, in the middle of the

song, there's a countdown after which the track is absolutely incredible. Very

very fast, you want to hear it again and again. A must have, just for Van

Halen.

If "Van Halen" is the only very good song on this CD I can only recommand

everybody to buy "Trance, Dance And Magic Plants" if you wanne have that song

of Lunar Asylum!! Because on that CD you have "Van Halen" and alot of very

good other songs!! Bom Shankar

Lunar Asylum is for sure a twisted album. Pure full-on psytrance, i think it

can be considered as a cult album for this style. This sounds are not common

for isralian musicians, but their are real madness.

In all tracks there is hard strong bass (except We Know Nothing, classical

Tr-909 precursion alnog with good rifs. Also all tracks are full of various

acid melodies that damage your fisical brains, but make you feel rock. In some

tracks there are good metall samples for more effect.

On the base of this general description all tracks can be devided into two

grups: MAD and ABSOLUTELY MAD. First ones are Iron Age, Goldendawn, Meltdown,

Depth Charge, We Know Nothing. And the others are Twister, G_lock, Van Halen.

Vanishing Point is my favorite, its not a characteristic track for this album.

It has great spacy melodies, jumping bassline and is closer to GOA-trance.

To summarise ewerything i will say that this is strong quality full-on album.

and every crasy psyman should defenetly listen to it sooner or later. P.L.U.R.

warning: this cd is not worth your time. it is outdated to say the least. most

parts just sound annoying with random sound effects. the first half of van

halen is really cool, and then it goes to shit. maybe if you like cheesy

over-chaotic immature sounding psy like green nuns and battle of the future

buddhas you'll like this.. otherwise stay away. 0.5/10

This is pretty good album but nothing extraordinary as you'd expect from Lunar Asylum.

Tracks are psychedelic but many of them lack something for the album to actually be a classic.

This album has their bas track to date VAN HALEN ( OMG ! fantastic ! Wild, deranged, twisted track, brilliant, this track alone is worth the whole album, but it could also be found on other compilations )...rest of the good tracks are : VANISHING POINT, TWISTER, GOLDENDAWN, DEPTH CHARGE.....7/10

Well, I will make certainly a contrast with the other judgements of this review, but for me, this album is one of the worse goa stuff I have ever heard. I'm listening it rarely, because I have any enthousiasm, any real desire to put this cd on my stereo. For me, the melodies and the general atmosphere of the album are boring, without a great sense of originality. There is a lack of something inside that makes me to feel down listening this album. I have expected to be impressed by it, but, except maybe "Van Halen", I think the other tracks are quite good, but far from being masterpieces.

But it's only my personal taste. B)

One of the most rocking classic psychedelic trance albums ever!

(together with the Green Nuns of the Revolution album)Also look out for rare

early maxis on Phantasm by the same guys.

Yeah "G Lock" is a bit similar to Green nuns in sound I like that track.

Other favourites are "Twister" (great psychedelic atmosphere), "Meltdown".

Solid album, Phantasm is the real deal!

I find your lack of accuracy and overabundance of hyperbole...disturbing.

There is no way that Van Halen is better than Twister. No way. Van Halen was fine if not unremarkable until it got all key changey, but the pure psychedelic eruption of Twister is like a black hole swallowing everything that gets near it. I would say this was a good album, but like others have said previously even though it's solid and has its moments it falls short of a classic. However that's not going to stop me from searching for a copy.

interesting how these things change over the years. the most famous lunar asylum tracks are van halen and meltdown. van halen is downright annoying to my ears while meltdown is decent but pretty unspectacular. twister blows both out of the water. vanishing point is also quite an ok track.
