Jalliuz
Cyber Cartel - Magic Vision Artist: Cyber Cartel Title: Magic Vision Label: Agitato Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Cosmic Disorder 02. Magic Vision 03. Space Embargo 04. Anno Domini 05. Smoke It 06. Sacred Paths 07. Final Oblivion 08. X Data 09. Dreamland Extortion Review: I really like this CD very much. It has something of GMS and something of alien project or astrix... fast basslines, 'gms effects', some astrix alike samples... The floating of each song is with the wellknown intervals, and soft climaxes... It's just not as good as alien project (maybe cuz A.P. was first???) Anyway, there are some really really nice tracks on it. for me it's 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 thought the others are really not bad! Overall points for the cd 8/
Guest Swede Indeed
Well, I think it's ok. No real surprises and the sound is familliar, like if you cross Talamasca with GMS and lower the production quality a bit. This is much lighter though, not so rough, more of floating, spacy feeling and a bit more melodic. The tracks sound very much alike so it's hard to tell if a track is good or bad compared to another but Space Embargo is my favourite. If it had been more varied it could have got a higher rating but it's not bad, and not so fantastic either so 7/10 (Much because of the intensity and the soft, floating feeling)
Guest Acidhive
Quite good indeed... 7,5/10 from me, because it does all sound pretty much the same... Therefore it can get repetitive. Not bad for a first outing though. Sounds a bit like Sesto Sento / Astrix hybrid.
Guest Full On
This one is great, as good (or better) as any Astrix, Alien Project, Atomic Pulse or Saffi Connection. This is a brand new style of full on, and I can tell you: It works great on any dancefloor. Cosmic Disorder is really good, great way to start the cd, hear already on dancefloors, Magic Vision is a natural born KILLER!!! This is played in almost every party!!! Space embargo, Anno Domini and Smoke it also are played all around the world. Buy this CD right now, it's one of the best full on albums realeased in 2002 (comparable with Sesto Sento - The inner Light). Buy it! 9/
Guest Vbrunner
Indeed this is one of the best full-on albums from 2002, second only to Astrix - Eye to Eye! Unlike the albums from Atomic Pulse, Safi Connection and Space Buddha, this is not a mere ripoff of what other artists have done (better). On the contrary I'm relieved to find some actual innovation and I'm no longer worried that the full-on sound has reached a dead end. Instead, thanks to newcomers like these guys and for example Sesto Sento I'm now very curious to see how the full-on spectrum will continue to expand in the near future. The album includes several dancefloor killers (Cosmic Disorder being the very best). But although there are no bad tracks, listening to the whole album does tend to get a bit repetitive towards the end (disregarding the downbeat last track). "Sesto Sento/Astrix hybrid" is not a bad way to describe Cyber Cartel. Though the sound in general leans more towards Astrix, there are certainly some elements reminiscent of Sesto Sento. Not to mention the fat bass and heavy kicks. All in all, Cyber Cartel is a wonderful fresh wind and I'm really looking forward to hearing what they might produce in the future. As a sidenote; The guy who mastered this, Yaniv Shulman, really needs to get his act together. I have 4 Agitato releases mastered by this man and each sounds poorer than the next. Magic Vision is the only acceptable one. I hope Agitato will let someone more competent master their future releases, this is a disgrace to the artists.
