Guest AlexG
agreed...highly intellegent, very beautiful stuff! probably the only minimal release that i can listen to the whole cd in one go and not be bored but instead think "wow this is beautiful"! nothing like the more progressive techno of son kite or intact instinct, or the percussive riffs of Three Point Turn, this stuff is very hormonious and beautiful, and in the middle of the cd even goes into driving psy-trance for a while; and by the way i like the orchestral experiments. one of the best albums of the year for sure! 9.5/10 just because no matter how good something is, there is always room for improvement
Guest skincom[at]mullum[dot]com[dot]au
Eternal Basement - Magnet Artist: Eternal Basement Title: Magnet Label: Blue Room Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 11'09" Overture 02. 07'05" Be Part Of It 03. 08'10" Ride On 04. 07'31" 1999 05. 08'17" Lost In Music 06. 07'03" Aba Hatt! 07. 07'52" Magnet 08. 07'40" Taking Place In You 09. 06'28" Stop War 10. 03'37" Out Dreaming Review: One half of the saafi bros makes up this duo but don,t think chill ambient. techno trance is more of an apt description. The album is journey like from its fake orchestral begginigs which lead into pure driving trance by the middle of the cd.One would think that alot of thought has gone into the choice of sounds and placement of them in the stereo field.favorites for sets are 1999 and lost in music altough its hard not to like any of the tracks.Lovers of harder trance don,t be put off by the intro track as even it has a surprise waiting. goa head and get it friends its a must. rating 9/10 love and light Richard :-)
Guest Vystril[at]aol[dot]com
Totally beautiful, i agree with the other posts very intelligent, i loved it the first time i heard it and it only gets better.. this goes to show a lot of openmindedness and progression of the genre... i love hearing classical instruments mixed in with my trance one of the best sit down and chill albums as yet.. keep up the great work EB... 9/
freak51
Ehh. Maybe I have to listen to it a dozen times or something: The Delta, Infected Mushroom and Cydonia already 'do' Orchestral Manoevres in their Dark (tee hee - showing my age) and I don't think this is so deep we need another sub-sub-genre. Cut it out a'ready. Even the tracks in the middle need ... something? ... but for a couple. 10/10 for effort, 6/10 for achievement so far. It might grow on me. freak51
I listened to this one again on the 401 from Kingston to Toronto - i.e., pretty much no other stimulus. and I must admit that once we get away from the freaking violins, I do enjoy this one. It still seems about 10 BPM too slow though. The production is excellent.
Guest Psylent Buddhi
Probably my best buy in 6 months or so! This is not psytrance, more like techno with definitely psychedelic influences. But like the others I agree that this is actually really beautiful! I guess progressive trance doesn't have to be that dark afterall. This is more mellow and relaxing! etn
Very serious and intelligent album. Track 2,3 and 7,8,9 like Juno Reactor and I think it`s the biggest commendation I can say....
