Guest yan84[at]aquanet[dot]co[dot]il
Walhalla - Menu Mental Artist: Walhalla Title: Menu Mental Label: Turbo Trance Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 07'37" Breath In 02. 07'33" Harvester 03. 07'22" Earthworm 04. 06'25" Triviality 05. 07'02" Purple Shrimp 06. 06'33" Unfulfilled Prophecy 07. 07'32" Hippocampe 08. 06'59" Museau Vinaigrette 09. 06'22" Breath Out Review: Johannes Reigner and Charles Michaud a.k.a Walhalla from Paris are both graduated from great sound ingeneering Colleges, the first specialised in music, the second in cinema. In 1999, they decide to merge into WalhaIla, a project dedicated to produce a groovy and funky tribal techno-trance. Very soon, they are spoted thanks to their imaginative, original -but mainly- their unique style. Walhalla has signed on various great french and international labels such as Ketuh records (Portugal), Moon Spirits (France ), Sub Machine records (France)... appearing on compilations as well as LPs. The duet performed on stage next to famous names of electronica and is one of the most uprising band of the french Trance movement. My opinion is 9/

Guest Acid Punch
This is a great piece of work....the french trance scene is the very versitle and ranges from minimal/trible/progressive through psyfullon and even goa melodic, this album is pure trible at its best....crisply produced tracks....great floow to the album and every song is were it should be....no surprises(good or bad). A good atmosphere music,to get things warming up on the dance floor and there are 2-3 stompers here that can swipe an entire clan of party people into a trance frenzy(hippocamp, purple shrimp...) all in all 7/10... Guest Macro
very nice album....most songs including a hidden melodie or a little sample taken from other famous tracks like Bitmonx - Erdbeer Kiwi ( in purple shrimps ) or Missing Times - Civil Engineering ( in Unfulfilled Prophecy ) ... a successful experiment of new styles ( 8,5 / 10 )
Guest phlux0r[at]yahoo[dot]com
I liked most of the previous Walhalla trax release on various EP's and compilations and I have to say that they haven't disappointed me with this album either so, thumbs up to the french duo for their good work. Firs;t I'd like to comment that his ain't house music! This is what some people would call minimal progressive psy trance. It's quite minimal with very well engineered sounds (no wonder given that the guys are sound engineers and most trax have some kind of progression going on in them with little melodies and other sounds blending and filling in nicely. I would also say that a couple of trax might not be everyones cup of tea but there are floor stompers like purple shrimp that just have to put a smile on yer face... all in all great for minimal lovers and people who aren't afraid of something slightly out of the ordinary and like to admire superb sound quality and engineering. My mark (8/10)
Guest Pim
I'm not quite into psytrance, more into full on, but I must say that I like this album. It has a "locomotive" in it ... keep running and running ... Some soomth psychedelic lines finishes the work. Conclusion: if you don't have it yet, worth listinging (and buying)
