Lemmiwinks
Menog - Natural Behavior Artist: Menog Title: Natural Behavior Label: Starsound Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. Someone Else 02. Metamorfose 03. The Others 04. Acid Trip (Rmx) 05. Brahma 06. Natural Behavior 07. Menog 08. Nameless Fear Review: Incredible album from Menog!!! Very dark melodic album, using loads of sample-melodies from horror movies (or melodies that sound like sample-melodies from horror movies...). I mean, thechnically this is psy, but it could just as easily be the soundtrack to some new horror movie he he Problem here is that almost all the tracks sound more or less the same, namely kinda like Dark Nebula - Black Beauty (on 100% Pure Brainwater, remember that one?), and this in spite the fact that most of the tracks are collaborations between Menog and other artists!! But who cares? this sounds soooo good!!! I couldn't really pick out a favorite track since they all sound very similar, but I guess Nameless Fear stands above the others. 8/10 (only 8 because there's little variation between songs)
seraph
MENOG - NATURAL BEHAVIOUR 2003 STARSOUND 1. SOMEONE ELSE 2. METAMORFOSE 3. THE OTHERS 4. ACID TRIP RMX 5. BRAHMA 6. NATURAL BEHAVIOUR 7. MENOG 8. NAMELESS FEAR Daniel Bernardo from Portugal made this psychedelic album for psycho lovers. And even though songs sound similar between like same bass lines and sounds, he did create specific atmosphere and it is quite enjoyable album despite not so many variations. He has some kind of psychotic but not hysterical structure and his wild energy fills you from beginning to end. He don't let you go and that is one of the reasons I like this album, he doesn't pet you on the head and tells you ' you are comfortable now, my child ' but he rather smashes you with the first notes and don't let you go. Even though he is using samlpes from horror films, you don't have feeling like you've been inside that film but he is more using it in a funny ways like strong, driving kick and some lullaby melodies spread all around to put you in a more diabolic mood. I like all tracks but the best ones are : METAMORFOSE, ACID TRIP, BRAHMA, NATURAL BEHAVIOUR, NAMELESS FEAR...8/10 Only for dark lovers and the ones with sense of humour and fun. Manuser
my opinion...even though it's not really my style I think any and every dark goa lovers should get this album. I was really surprised to hear that Eyes wild shut movie sample in the last track And Seraph you forgot to tell there are several collaborations in this album, with XRC (track 2), Shrink (track 3), Mr Peculiar (track 5), and Tryptamine 46 (track 8).
