Guest Rx7style
Timetech - Notes Artist: Timetech Title: Notes Label: Plusquam Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Notesv 02. At All Times 03. Integer Intrigue 04. Torrox Costs 05. Sensuality 06. Need 07. Skip The Details 08. E.S Review: I can tell that Mario Reinsch and Sebastian Plehn have a love for the clean & simplistic, radiating a strong musical background for the talented Germans. The album is very good quality, as is expected these days in the electronic genre. There isn't anything to annoy, or ruin the solidity of all tracks here, and that's a very good thing as that can easily be the undoing of an album. I've heard "Sensuality" on their 12"; both were good, but the mix not on this album I thought would have complimented the other tracks more suitably. I'm not trying to over-generalize, but there are very smooth, progressive builds in every track. All tracks carry a relatively similar tempo, and are filled with an adequate amount of variation both within the tracks, and between one another. "Torrox Costs" isn't all that bad, but I didn't care much for the filtered vocal whiffs here and there, yet I did enjoy the hard beats and kicks. Again, very simple but it's done seamlessly so it works. "Skip The Details" resembles a house-y and funky beat pattern including the synth lines, with low bass tones; fitting with the discernable theme of club trance with undertones of funk. The last track, "E.S" is the best on the album; funky with clean harmonics intermingled, and you can't go wrong with that. A good first album for these guys, and I presume they will only continue to develop in a positive direction, even if the music isn't too psychedelic: the reason I can only give an 8^) /
Guest Tomvcarter
Not as good as i had hoped, as both artists have produced some awsome stuff in the past, in particular mario from Haldolium. This is clean, crisp, progressive trance, with a chilled clubby vibe. Its very nice to play at home, but its not quite right. It all flows very well, with a nice groove, and very well executed hi hats, but ever tune sounds similar, with a few vocoda voice samples throught. Its not cheezy in the slightest, but just lacks something. Tracks 2, 7 & 8 are my favorites. A good album but there is nothing to get really exited about. 7/10. Guest Acidhive
Great stuff, all progressive and warm sounding tracks with great clubby atmosphere. Well, you've gotta have a weakness for this style to really dig this I guess, but I do, and so this was a welcome addition to my collection of psytrance albums. Way to go Sebastian (Buzz) and Mario (Haldolium) 8,5/10 from me here.
