Vibrasphere - Nowhere

The best Vibrasphere 12" release, by far. "Nowhere" (also on "A Progress in

Trance") is the first track here. Very fast and upbeat with those

oh-so-lovely scando-style effects swirling around on the midrange.

"Autopilot" is the real gem here, IMO. Starts out with a long intro, begins a

bit slower than the first track. Quickly traverses into epic territory once

the hi-hats and chorus effects kick in. Sounds somewhat like their song

"Lava" on the Echo LP, only slower and darker. In any case, you can really

see Vibrasphere progressing from some of their earlier releases (e.g. "The

OpenSphere", "Roadtrain", "Crystal", all great tracks btw), and finding their

distinctive sound. "Autopilot" is one of my favorite Vibrasphere tracks. As

such, this EP gets a 9/10 from me, for two great songs.

Vibrasphere - Nowhere

Artist: Vibrasphere

Title: Nowhere

Label: Transient

Date: 1999

Track listing:

01. Nowhere

02. Autopilot

Review:

Vibrasphere are Robert Elster & Rickard Berglöf from Sweden, and they keep on

impreassing me. This EP is very similar to their album who was released later

on. The style on the first track is maybe somekind of mix between Atmos and

Ticon sound (?), they've used their own typical "vibratic" sound [as I call

it;)], heavy baseline, a wonderful break in the middle with their swirling,

"vibratic" echoing sounds, and it then kicks of to the maximum, wonderful...

Track 2 is the darker journey on this EP, and it's a bit slower then first

one. Starts building up with an heavy bass and some creepy horrorlike sounds,

and pretty much keeps on going like that to the end. First track is without

doubt the better one here, as it is more of an typical Vibrasphere morning

tune production, allthrough this is an great EP, worth getting!

Yes, this EP is NICE! When I first heard it in a record store, I thought, wow,

this is really some new sound. But maybe it wasn't so new compared to other

semi-minimal releases, dunno. "Nowhere" is more progressive in my opinion.

Very nice bassline and soundscape. Autopilot is a bit slower, but also very

good. I don't have a favorite, I like both tracks!
