Guest chris[at]kerb[dot]co[dot]uk
Absolum - On The C-Side / Drumatrix (Rmx) Artist: Absolum Title: On The C-Side / Drumatrix (Rmx) Label: TIP World Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. On The C-Side 02. Drumatrix (Rmx) Review: Ahh, the mighty Drumatrix. Who hasn't have this played at them a thousand times already? (How did you do that? Do what? You moved like they do... etc etc) I'm afraid I'm downright sick of Matrix samples by now, but at least it's finally on vinyl now. The other side (I'm guessing the 'C' side) is much better, mainly because of the lack of Matrix-isms. Typical Absolum stuff - full on with very little melody - it seems everything TIP World have put out recently has all started to sound suspiciously like a cross between GMS and anything on 3D Vision... not that that's necassarily a bad thing! 8/10 for 'on the c-side', 5/10 for the Matrix
Basilisk
Matrix overload. People like this stuff but I don't understand why.
Guest binke[at]binke[dot]org
This is a great record if you are into mixing psy on vinyl. It's in rotation with me and staying that way for quite awhile. Absolum has incredible production skills, and these first two reviews don't give it any justice or respect. Just listen for yourself! Guest Phaedrus[at]austin.rr[dot]com
Yeah, I love Absolum in general, but he just goes too crazy with the same sample... over... and over.... and over... Besides that it is great tho I'd get the LP "Wild" instead as it has these 2 tracks plus many that are better.
Guest Philip Xmen
Damn I love the Absolum style, and this EP offers two killer tracks... both equally good, though I could do without the Matrix samples, which sounds a bit stoned. 9/
Guest Phaeton
nice tracks to fill your dj set with, but not much more than that either .. pretty standard and formulaic 3d vision stuff, nothing too daring 7/
Mindtwister
Arrrggg.... The Matrix sample destroyes the whole track!!!
