Guest psychedelia80[at]hotmail[dot]com
Star Sounds Orchestra - Ooz Artist: Star Sounds Orchestra Title: Ooz Label: Spirit Zone Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 5'07" Neanderthal Love 02. 6'23" Burundi 03. 6'22" Anandamid 04. 6'34" Dark X Mas 05. 7'05" Washington 06. 7'10" Hovek Olam 07. 7'09" Western Moon 08. 4'03" The Dawning 09. 8'42" Liquid Magic 10. 7'40" Dream Wavers Review: This album is very good, very happy melodies, maybe a bit different from all the other artists. Track 8, The Dawning, a very quiet soft track with good vibes
freak51
Washington is a good track, if you like it shamelessly goa-cheesy with a very simple bunga-bunga bass line. The rest, I just can't even get into in a slumming-kind of way. SSO is not my thing, but if it's yours, you'll like this record.
Guest [Anonymous]
if you ever get the chance to see these guys live, go there, even if this is too cheesy for you. they do a live performance with about 20 or 30 different gongs, which is among the most enchanting things you can feed to your ears. unfortunately, this only shows briefly here, during the last track. otherwise, i have a soft spot for the cheesiest track of all, the dawning, pure popmusic. the stompers dont do it for me
Guest Per Sterud
Neanderthal Love and Hovek Olam are awesome tracks. My big complaint about S.S.O.'s work is the severely cheesy vocal samples they use. I mean, what the fuck?
Guest kerozne[at]starmedia[dot]com
In my oppinion this is one of the best albums of "This Style" osf psy trance........with great effects and complex samplers in perfect harmony........Get it'nd enjoy it! Guest Per Sterud
S.S.O. is really hit or miss, aren't they? There are a couple really good songs on this album. Some other songs would be really good IF THE SAMPLES WEREN'T SO GODDAMNED SILLY. Otherwise, their sounds have that great fizzy, crispy quality, their rhythms are decent, and the melodies are pretty nice. One of the best things about this band: Hoping they'll have matured by their next album, because if they have it's bound to be a good one. Guest nthjelme[at]goatrance[dot]com
I got a chance to listen to S.S.O live at Arvika in sweeden a week ago..they are totaly different live than on CD, on CD S.S.O is really boring..but live they REALLY ROCKS! even if they guys are a bit old..(40-50 years...) BIG gong-gongs, lot of live drumming, synth-tweaking, screaming weard psycedelic sounds! it was awesome, the best live show I've ever seen.. I would recomend you to use your money to see them live instead of buying the CD.
Guest [Anonymous]
same as everyone really...brilliant live, best act I saw at boom 2000 but the cd sucks shit, actually thats quite harsh, my favourite neanderthal nliove is too short and there others that could be blinders if it weren't for the hideous samples which almost sound as if a five year old has been let loose with a sampler, well maybe a ten yr old
