Review:

 

This is obviously what Dragonfly calls their best tracks. Indeed, they are

new, innovative, good grooves. the only issue is that there is not a unity

on this compilation. the begining is -quite- melodic, while the end is

really monotonic-bom-bom-bom-bom-...

Please notice the trancey trippy dancing ambiance created by the tracks 1

(Luminaire),2 (Purple),5 (Lotus Blue with X Dream)

The ways developped by Bus with section 8 (trk4) and THE remix of Sound

Vandal by Semsis (trk 6) are excellent, to my mind.

A good compil for those who like to listen to psytrance on their nailboard

and then put some salt on theit cuts.

Too lightweight for my tastes. Dragonfly has been basically just going through

the motions since Hallucinogen left to form Twisted. OK, Shakta is still an

excellent catch for this label but I notice he's not on this comp at all.

Good to see the Dragonfly buzz back but I was expecting a little more in the

general quality of the tracks than what's presented here. To be honest I've

only heard it through once so far so it might yet grow on me. Stand out tracks

for me were Luminaire's 'Duet Dub' & Lotus Blue's 'Psychedelic Rock & Roll'

After hearing this track was re-mixed by X-Dream, I basically bought this

album based around that fact knowing that at least one of the tracks would be

shit hot...and it was. I'm prefering their chillout L.S.D. label more these

days, the stuff released on that's amazing. 6.5/10.

What's happening to psytrance ??? It seems many labels sell comps (TIP with

Halluci-Nations comp, Atomic with their comps, last Tantrance & Goa Head

comps) with Tracks having less and less melodies !

Justen listen to the 3 previous Order Odonata comps and this one ... that's

COMPLETELY different !!! And I really don't like it, sorry :-(((

I like changing psychedelic MELODIES in psytrance, these Tracks are not

melodious at all and aren't really varied ... Only Track 2 is interesting,

other Tracks are not Bad (except Track 5) but I find them boring :-(

Beware, we're close to reach Techno-style !!! That would really be a pity :-(

I completely agree with children01. This is not what I expected from Dragonfly.

There is no melody and it's way too simple. It almost sounds like boring

minimal hose. I understand that psy trance is changing but I don't see

anything inteligent about this one.

Pretty good compilation. The begining (tracks 1,2 and 3 ) is more trance than

Goa but it's quite interesting. I find the Genetic track funny (ok, I know

you're not agree with me). The other part is good minimalist psychedelic

trance, "bus" and "Yumade" are not as bad as usual, tracks 5 (X-Dream remix of

lotus blue), 6 (Semsis) and 7(Noma) are good for dance (those 3 tracks are the

better part of this compilation), the last track Excession-pulsar is a

little bit too minimalist.

Finally, it's good to hear another Dragonfly release even if you will not find

in this compilation some well known Dragonfly artists as Pleiadians or Shakta.

Waitin' for Order Odonata 5 :-)

I just got this CD, is still in the plastic cover. I haven´t opened it because

I wanted to know what you people think about this release, many people dislike

it and some others like it. Maybe this one will grow on me, I´m not a melodic

trance freak. Is melodic old fashion??, I guess yes, and look how we are

getting into techno slowly...that´s evolution!!

Evolution is change, and change is ALWAYS a good thing it's "THE

WAY". Variety here, Tube is a very good track 7/10.

I think it's really good. Especially the Genetic track. Yumade is very good

too. I don't like the Lutus Blue (x-dream rmx)track much though. A few other

tracks sound great, and a few are OK.... I thought it would be old crap, like

the first two Order odonatas, but oo4 is cool.

I've have this for quite some time without listening to it more than a couple

of times... But then I heard the Yumade-track at a party and decided to dust

this CD of and give it another listen... And MAN that Yumade-track is good...

The rest of the CD is ... Ehh.... Ok, I guess... Nothing that really grips my

attention! I'd give this 5/10 Bom shankar!

Just get the the sampler on 12", because it contains the only two outstanding

tracks on this comp, "Tube" and "Pulsar". The rest I dont like, but a lot of

my friends are reall into the Bus and into the Purple track.

But get the sampler, it makes an excellent 12".

Pretty good compilation...Ys, It is not that melodic disc but still it is great

bouncey disc...First song only is bad, rest is pretty good especially

2,3,5,6,7,8..Hehe
