Guest Tyrannicide
Could anyone give me any info on this project? I heard the first track and it sounds like dub with some spanish vocal samples over it. What's the deal?
Guest Benny K
I also found that. You must have got a zipped AG special. It could have been a bonus track at the start of the CD or something. The second track starts to pump out the psy. There is a sample of a guy on it saying "Welcome to da barrio", which is the name of the first track. You work it out. I couldnt! Guest v4K
Vatos Lokos are Xavier Fux (from Mexico I think), Nick Doof and an other guy which I can't remember the name. As far as I know they are the ONLY psy act in the world signed by a BIG record label: Sony Music. v4K
Guest small grey creature
fist of all vatos locos are: xavier fux (a well known mexican dj) nick doof (who didnt know him?) celli firmi (soundaholics) I read this nfo in www.soundsorcery.com (the article is dead) and as far i remember they started playing in playa del carmen, mexico They obtain a good reaction of the crowds but they didnt take it so serious, so a few days after xavier fux met a guy from sony music mexico and he offered some kind of job in the label (well, in a sony's sublabel called dance division) so so for the first release of that label they created the welcome to the barrio album... They got a big boom in mexico for a few months (the best 5 months in the mexican scene by far), but after that just nothing..... maybe i post a review of the album soon.... Guest FlyingCircus
It's really hard to find a copy of this album. psyshop doesn't have it and i asked all the traders on the voov who sold cds after it. most of them didn't even know it and the rest only knew it because of mp3s. I really would like to have an original copy of this one but the distribution really is a great mess!
Guest psygroove
A mess ??? Funny as they are signed with SONY..... a major should be able to spread the albums ????!!!
