If you absolutely despise the Scandanavian/Northern European sound, if names like Atmos, Hux Flux and Logic Bomb make you violently ill, if trance without sing-song melodies "just ain't trance" in your book then take this album off your Christmas list.. This is as good a compilation devoted to the Scando-sound as I've heard, Since I'm most certainly NOT one of the aforementioned people (not that I have anything against them) I find this compilation absolutely brilliant! I may have been hooked on trance by the old-school, but the progressive/minimalist/whatever-you-call-it sound is "getting me there" these days. Standout tracks come from Reefer Decree, Yumade and Dragon. Expect to hear these names a lot in the near future. Storming sounds prevail that evoke violent winds, driving snowstorms along with indescribable beauty. The Scando-sound has always reminded me of the mountains -- gorgeous and lush, yet at once powerful and dangerous. If you're into it, you're into this CD. Disc 2 is another winner, only this time ambient is the style. I'm not exactly a collector of ambient music but I know what I like, and I like this. A perfect chill-out for those who have weathered the storm. Grab this CD for certain...9/

unit_
This is, as mentioned above, a really good trance cd if you're into dark psychedelic trance. It's actually one of the best "minimalistic" compilations I've heard. I totally agree with Scott that people who're into the old goa sounds won't like CD1 at all. But for me this cd is something extraordinary even though I can enjoy listening to some melodic goa/trance just as much. Cd2 also contains nice chillout tunes but not quite as good as those on Return to the source - the chakra journey. I strongly suggest you to get this CD.
