Guest Psychedelic Gav
Return To The Source - Shamanic Trance Psiberfunk Mixed By Mark Allen Artist: Return To The Source Title: Shamanic Trance Psiberfunk Mixed By Mark Allen Label: Pyramid Date: 1998 Track listing: 01. 07'17" Der Ster Von Africa : Nomo Butu 02. 08'13" Quirk : Dance With The Devil 03. 05'59" Germinating Seeds Of Doda : Sloworm 04. 07'52" Maskalin : Alien Funk 05. 07'14" The Nommos : Amma 06. 06'38" Green Nuns Of The Revolution : Octofunk 07. 06'12" Slide : Saturnalia 08. 08'28" Psychopod : Universal Mind 09. 06'30" Tripster : Tango Electro 10. 06'38" Johann Bley : Stranded (The Delta Rmx) Review: My favourite of all the RTTS compilations - this kicks it for me the most. This is a very well mixed and pretty banging compilation. Not to subtle despite the quiet intro of Der Ster Von Afrika which then bounces into Quirk. This is wonderful music, some well known like Universal Mind, others relatively rare like Johann Bley. I?d recommend this as a good buy. Guest Antic
I agree! This is one of the best mixed-cds I had and the selection of tunes is nothing less than perfect. I must admit that starting with Der Stern From Africa's track is... I don't know - quiet isn't the best word - ...chilled but it sure gets you in the mood. Quirk is weird as expected, Germinating Seeds is more drum and bass than trance, but all the other tracks are full on stompers, with Slide's "Saturnalia" and Tripster's "Tango electro" being high point of the journey. Ofcourse Psychopod and Green Nuns deliver their top quality stuff too, but I heard them elsewhere. The last one by Jahann is - I must say - a bit suprising. It's very good track, though there's nothing more than electric guitar and pumping bassdrum+bass line! I never really liked guitars in trance (except for Cor!) but this one is soooo good. Buy this CD if you can - you won't regret!
Guest Antic
Oh! I forgot - the mixing by Mark Alen is sooo smooth and flawless. He must be the best DJ of the world! Great party CD!
