Guest Psyko-vader
Hey Anoebis , it's not a chainsaw!! it's a generator!!! (Open-air parties or what?) ;-). Anyway a nice comp., Track 9 effectively kicks ass, 4,5,7 are decent trackx and Reefer Decree is so pretty! "strange to hear such a song from them...", Hem... Listen to the 1st Iboga release (98), at this time Reefer was named Oryx...In fact, that's their original style! Bom!

Anoebis
V/A - Psionic Tonic Artist: Various Title: Psionic Tonic Label: Digital Psionics Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Bon : Lun 02. LAB : Spellbound 03. Cyanescens : Ping Pong 04. Comadose And Firdel : Clifton 05. Kluster : Misty Dist 06. Schitzophrenic Society : Word Salads 07. Navajo : Freak Zone 08. Battle Of The Future buddhas : Grasshopper 09. Dark Nebula And Paraphernalien : Generator X 10. Reefer Decree : Psychic Substances Review: After a year of (too) many minimal and 3d-vision-style cd's I have the feeling real Psy-Trance is finally coming back (this, the 13 skulls, TTR, Zoo,...)! This cd is really a very good one!! Hard night-time music with sharp, and very psychedelic noise everywhere... Number 1 isn't good, but that doesn't matter because number 2 is simply GREAT!!! LAB is a side-project of Robert from Vibrasphere and after his Trippin Trolls (Psychoactive Scando 2) I can only say I'm amazed about his work!! Haunting night-time killer music with scary melodies, and amazing drum-work... Number 3 & 5 are also very psychedelic, but even more dark... Kicking basslines with on top crunchy sounds that squizzz your brains, and for the minimal-haters, no, this is NO boring music!! ;-)) Number 6 isn't my cup of tea, a little too boring... Number 7 is once again a very dark and psychedelic song!! Number 8 is a not so good song from the Battle Buddhas, they have much better stuff out there!! Then we continue with another killer... Number 9 is really insane music!! There is much more happening as in usual Dark Nebula releases and in the middle we even get a chainsaw sample... ;-))) To end this cd there is a rather slow and melodic track from Reefer Decree, really stran! ge to hear such a song from them... All together this is a very good night-music release that will even sound better on open-air parties!! 8/10 and a must have! Guest SjÖgGe
Great Album, i havent heard the first releases from digital psionics, but what i heard was that this is the best and im impressed this album is pure dark night acid bbooommmm, i think track 5, 6 ,9, 10, is the best ones, 'this comp will be in my heart forever, keep up the stoomper style... love from sweden
Guest miguel[at]shpongle[dot]com
not bad...tr 1, funny, but a little boring, probably only good for very early dancefloor warming...tr 2, lab, begins with a wonderful, eerie, brain binding melody, and the build up is just flawless...I still lack something for this track to consider it a blower, but it's probably the best in the album along with tr 4...tr 3 ain't bad, good sounds and nice feel, but a little monotonous...tr 4 is quite good, anybody knows where these guys come from? this is truly psychedelic, flowin, simple yet intricate, a real good trance tune...tr 5 is worse, ends with a melody not too elaborated, but the first half isn't bad...track 6 is very acid, twisting psychedelia, even if somewhat repetitive (not "minimal" at all), percussion is great...tr 7, lots of twitching, bending ans scartching, but I still miss the point to it...still haven't heard botfb track, I don't dig their style a lot...tr 9 isn't bad, typical dark nebula style, it gets too long for me, doesn't develop much...too many samples and stops for my taste...tr 10 puzzles me, i still don't know whether I like it or not...the melody itself doesn't bother me, it is well developed, but some sounds are not too "serious"...maybe I'll love this track in the future, but for now it doesn't really do it for me. overall not a bad album, although it is certainly not a highlight for the end of 2001, best sounds for me come from 2, 4 and 6. Guest jfawns[at]hotmail[dot]com
amazing compilation. for miguel@....., these guys are from byron bay, australia (my home town) and are very well known in the local doof scene. this is one of the best releases from digital psionics so far in my opinion, with trax 3 & 4 taking it out. 9/
Guest bsj[at]mailme[dot]dk
(For Miguel) If its track 4 you mean then the answer is Denmark. It's mark and Sune from Aarhus. Look out for their debut release on Crotus Records sometime next year. For the compilation....well, 7/10.
Guest tommy[at]robertsen[dot]dk
Good compilation.. ill have to say my favorite is track 4, mark and sune boiling... just what i like.. track 7 is also a nice track.. yet another one to come out of Aarhus, Denmark... Babak & mike also knows what its all about.. allrdound i would give the compilation 6/10 .. most of the tracks isnt my taste but, they are not Sux0rs like some of the shit that comes out now........ Mr. Brian Crotus.. doing a little self promotion are we? *G* hurry up with that Krumalur album..
Guest kadafi
Like this compil... Not a single track I skip when I put it on... Favorites: 4CLIFTON!!! I really like the buid up of this one, it has a perfect climax with a happy melody! 9GENERATOR X has a 'National geographic documentary' voice leading you through the desert where people are dancing and tranceforming into animals...hihi But this isn't National Geogr. this is psytrance, so you really ARE IN the Kalahari desert! Very renewing idea with the generator or chainsaw or whatever! 10REEFER DECREE I to didn't know they made/make melodious stuff like this... and I think they do it pretty well! 1LAB is a littlebit repetitive in my opinion, but I really like the 'trolls&gnomes' atmosphere in their melody (Trippin Trolls!!!) 7/
Guest andreas[at]netcabo[dot]pt
MY GOD... the album is worth alone for the reefer decree track!! it's fucking beautiful... they should stick to that style instead of the monotonous crap they make.. Guest freak[at]freakybob[dot]co[dot]uk
as published in upfront magazine 09/10.01: Title: Psionic Tonic Artist: Various Artists Label: Digital Psionics. This is the latest slice of the weird and wonderful world that Luke Psywalker and Luna Orbit inhabit. The last two releases on this label brought to the world some cutting edge and diverse talent and this third release is no exception. Psionic Tonic is intensely psychedelic, and it draws together the talents of the likes of L.A.B (the melodic half of Vibrasphere), Dark Nebula, Reefer Decree, and the ultimately twisted Battle of the Future Buddhas. Once again Digital Psionics have managed to produce an album where all the tracks are worthy in their own right, but when all drawn together produce a whole which is mind-blowing psychedelia in its purest form.
