Infected Mushroom : Muddy Effect Review: I checked recently the Sphere Website and i was really amazed by the kind of EP they already released..Dark Soho, Domestic, ECT, Infected...the kind of words my hears like to hear. I expected a lot from that compilation And i was a bit disappointed by the UK shit they put inside. The Dark Soho is a pure killer...the best so far. Better than Terra Sancta, The Fusion, Madness. Hard guitar riff..Big Badass Earthquake Bassdrum, Explosives Snares, Big Soho Breaks...the recipe is fucking good. The Darkness is there too with some horror movies samples, sounds etc etc... 10/10 for the track. The Infected Tracks (Expose And Muddy Effect) are taken from the most efficents ones the guys did...Muddy Effect is a bit more unknown compared to Expose but it's one of my favourites. Very good choices. Space Boot is a Russian artist And he really sound like a good another russian one -> Paranoic Sensations. Very cool And fresh. Now let's enter the shit part of the compil. All the UK tracks are boooring. I don't have anything about UK music, but i must admit today i really understood why the UK scene is so down there. Nobody told those guys that nowadays it's impossible to make a whole track with TB 303 acid sounds? Every tracks sounds like 1989 Trance !!! Those tracks are absolutely un-hearable. I'll give 7/10 anyway because the few good tracks are MORE THAN GOOD they are JEWELS. The kind of tracks that should appears in some TOP 10. I also think that the new Sphere compilation will erase those artists mistakes considering the artists names on the cover (DarkSoho, ECT, Domestic, Sensphere). Guest AlexG Posted September 21, 2000 Share Posted September 21, 2000 i think u have to stop thinking by countries guys: there are good acts in both israel and uk, and there are acts that make me puke in both israel and uk. listen to the music! also, about the guitar: people who automatically dismiss any trance that even has remote elements of electric guitar in it make me laugh! there are shitty guitar tracks and there are great guitar tracks (just like any tracks). once again, just listen to the music. forget the fucking stereotipes, dammit! that is the essence of psychedelic! about the comp: infected tracks are some of the best they ever did. dark soho is also very cool (yea, i like em!). the rest i dont care for. 6/10 overall, because the other tracks are not very good Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Dark Soho throws down an absolutely ripping piece of heavy metal thunder, KEEP THOSE GUITAR TRACKS COMING!! On the 12" release the Chi-Ad track is another fantastic one coming from these guys. Muddy Effect is one of the best tracks i ever heard.I don´t think they sucks.they rules.ECT, In R Voice, ChI AD are also pretty good tracks...Put it in the sound and play,man!!Good vibes from Brazil... Guest moander[at]media[dot]mit[dot]edu Posted July 23, 2001 Share Posted July 23, 2001 I have this compil and I like the dark soho track very much, but one thing bothers me, I also have this distance to goa 8 compil where joti sidhu (psychaos) mixes the track "depth of emotion" by dark soho and it's completely different, and even better than the one on this comp.
