Guest Gizmo
V/A - Psychedelic Goa Core 1 Artist: Various Title: Psychedelic Goa Core 1 Label: Javelin Date: 1996 Track listing: 01. 05'27" Transwave : Trashish 02. 04'30" Cosmosis : Dans Ta Figure 03. 07'02" Chakra : Hallucinate 04. 04'57" Biot : Radiation 05. 04'14" Morphem : How Can U-B So Sure 06. 04'36" Encens : Infinite Image 07. 07'10" Evolution : Riding High 08. 03'34" Rhythmystec : Catexis 09. 08'22" Shakta : Tri-Kay 10. 04'37" Mama Indica : Radioactive Rain 11. 07'29" Moonweed : Telepath 12. 06'12" Section X : Atlantis Rythm Mix 13. 06'42" Doof : I Think We Can Go To The Moon (Full Moon Mix) Review: Psychedelic Goa Core, are one of the best mixed series I've ever heared. This great mixes were made by french (I think) Dj Orphee. As You see the tracklisting, all tracks are high quality. Whole album is core from the beginning till the end. It's hard from the first seconds. It's good to damage dancefloors at the party. Transwave & Cosmosis - two tracks full on with guitar samples, then as always in mad old style Chakra. Also Biot's track will attack Your brain cells. Then Morphem's track, nice melody, but with this faster tempo You can't sit still even for the moment. Encen, the most crazy track I know from them, twisted melody, hard beat, also Evolution track is great, now the BPM is higher. Rhythmystec appears with wll known acid "Cathexis", after it Seb in a great form with his "Tri Kay". Nex track is one of my favourite artists, master Tim Schuldt with awesome from his earlies production "Radioactive Rain", Moonweed another quality track full of acid killing loops. Track from Section X is rather poor in sounds, but it have its own energy. And Doof at the end, monotonic, heavy, acid mix. Sum up: Great track selection (maybe excpet last 2 tracks), great mixing work, It's a pleasure to listen to this compilation. If You like goa core, U must have it, but I don't know where to buy it, I know that it's a french release, but I didn't see it in any online shop. 8,5/10. Guest Brugges
This compil is outstanding! It alternates some really fast and melodic songs with other more sober (see Gizmo comment). The title of Shakta called "Try Kay" is in fact the same as "Lepton Head", but the version on this compil is the original. The version on Silicon Trip is slightly rearranged. The title by Encens is amazing! Doof and Moonweed sounds a bit less psy trance but they are ok. 9/10. BUT...the best of the best is the volume 2 of this serie, also mixed by Orphee and what a mix: you don't even notice the change between the songs. It begins with TIP's Overwind (!!!) and end with PSYKO DISKO's Pho Rue Yang. Also songs by Unconscious Collective, Infernal Machine (B-side),...It was the first cd of GOA I heard and it is still the best (1997). Rating: 11/10. The third and last vol. of the series is more 'rhytmic' and very trendy: songs by process, germinating seeds of doda, nervasystem, noosphere and the famous Full mental Jackpot by Crop circles. Rating: 7.5/10. I'll try to put them on the list.
Manuser
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iC_DiBCWrWU Very very good, party goa trance music, energetic from the first to the last second, fast acidish goa at its best 8/10 (track 9 is not "tri kay" but lepton head the original)
