I have about 1000 Goa/Psychedelic Trance Tracks (90% on albums, 8% compils, 2% unsorted mp3) and this compilation is in my compilations Top5 among other great classics like History of Trance (3) - The Psychedelic Movement. It's lightly mixed (only for 1-2 sec), so the songs are in their original length but they managed to wisely choose the tracks, so that it still is a continous trip. Most Tracks are great, slow, mystic, dark And progressive (but kinda melodic) psytrance, not the shitty and boring 1999/2000 progressive style like most songs on Irresistable Meltdown (only Etnica's track is mindblowing there) for example. Note that the album has the BEST cover art I have ever seen due to a strange optical trick where you think that the pattern of the cover floats in the air, 2cm higher than the CD cover itself. You must have seen it to believe ;-) Although I love the compilation nowadays, this cover was also a reason to buy it! If you expect Pleiadians, Green Nuns 303 overkill (which is nice ofcoz) or full on hard psy tracks like Quirk - Shark Matter (great track), then this might not exactly fit your style, at least not beeing that fast or multilayered melody rush. CD1: The first track is perfectly floating into Track 2 which is the same style but much shorter, so a very nice startup together. With Track 3 the tempo is rising, great samples and some melody in the background. "Plasma" is THE introduction for the next track called "Bad 2 Bone" which is besides Track 6 the best track on this comp. "Into the Static" from the Tarsis Album "Vacuum" is unbelievable dark psy trance with mindblowing background sounds and perfectly fits between its warm up (the previous track) and Oforias "Pretty Poison (Rmx)". It's propably one of the darkest bass lines together with kick ass drums I have ever heard... nice work Tarsis. If you disagree then mail to me which song can beat this one in those terms! "A good Bug is a dead Bug" is really weird and the last track "Fluffy Purple Thing" is the fastest track on CD1 with classic 303 samples, it's still nice but if I had to pick the weakest track this is it in my opinion. CD2: All tracks on the 2nd CD are great, my favourites are Track 4,6 (kinda long name, eh?) and California Sunshine "Jajo" from the album Nasha, where the name has been messed up on the cover (California : Sunshine) but they also write it like this on the inlay printing so I kept it like this in the track listing. This song is much more melodic and classic trance style than the others, it doesn't really fit too much in the whole compilation just like the last song which is fast goa style, but who cares as both really kick ass and are a great end of the trip. I would repeat myself in describing the style of the other tracks, as they managed to pick the tracks fitting so nice together like you would expect it from a complete album. my opinion: BUY IT!!!
