Anoebis
Noosphere - Radiated Artist: Noosphere Title: Radiated Label: Twisted Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 07'58" Noosleap 02. 08'41" More 03. 08'47" The Beyond 04. 08'18" 23rd Cromonosom 05. 07'02" Carpe Noctem 06. 08'38" Pepsis Wasp 07. 08'11" The Seed 08. 05'25" Paradigma 09. 07'31" Different Kind Of Fish Review: A Very Psychedelic and dark album!! There are 2 absolute killers on it (23d Chromosom (4) and Carpe Noctem (5)), really véry good songs!! Except of that it isn't too good, it's all the same kind of dark trance so after a while it's becoming boring... Bom Shankar!!
Guest d.mcnair[at]dailyrecord.co[dot]u
I don't often dislike stuff that I think I'll like but for some reason that's what happened here and this album never really grabbed me or offered any thing new or quirky. Disapointing really. Nice cover though! If you're a fan and can't get a hold of the vinyl, mail me and we can sort something out.
Guest mrsyed
I am surprised that people even consider this to be a dark album. It's so bright bristling with hope and joy. The title is Radiated and I sure felt like it esp tracks like More, Pepsis Wasp. This is the kind of Xdream music I want to hear more of, the pre Radio day music. No comming soon, or Intercorporal Stimulator like music here. Witty, uplifting, beautifully structured, melodic unafraid to use live instrument samples like the flute. It's been 5 months and I still love it. A great release!
Guest Pit-UFO
Its strange that this album has two really, really great tunes (as anoebis mentioned) CARPE NOCTEM and 23rd CHROMOSOME. The rest is good, its really worth buying but probably their next album will be a better one. 8/
Guest Infected Max
Definitely 10 times less attractive than Radio 5/
Guest Ktaadn
Nothing ground-breaking here, but certainly worth a listen. "23rd Chrom." displays some nice changes melodically -- this one's the true "journey" of the album. Check out "Pepsis Wasp" as well; it'll grab you and shake you around for awhile. Looking forward to more from Noosphere, as the potential is clearly there. The liner notes "comic" is a trip. Very amusing...6/
freak51
It sure isn't X-Dream. However, it's worthwhile. 23rd Chromosome is actually quite old [it appeared on a Blue Room comp from 1996], but still fits nicely with the rest of the tracks. The disc represents a departure for Twisted Records: Noosphere doesn't sound at all like a Posford creation, it's pretty straightforward musically [not that there's anything wrong with that]. 8/10. Guest Tequila
Boring is the word that qualify correctly this album. With two exceptions: the 4th and the 5th tracks wich are really great. The rest is not really original, and absolutly does not make fly.5/
Guest X - Dreamer in NYC
This album isn't one of the best side projects with the exception of track 5 (one of the best ever) but it is still quality and quality I can deal with. I still listen to this a lot even though its been out a while. 7/
Guest boomwizard[at]hotmail[dot]com
mrsyed is right this album is uplifting not dark. Noosphere have a really original sound, an outdoor sound which is why this was caned at the Etnica events. Every tracks a winner but The Seed,Carpe Noctem and The Beyond are my pick. Guest eyal[at]gtc[dot]com
track 1 its very uplifting an clear, nice sound whit a very mark bass 8/10, track 2 what a combination of sound and bass, very psy 9/10, track 3 the best of the album,10/10, and track 4,5,6 just great basslines an atmosferic riffss, just go and BUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, good for twisted, do more things nowwwwwwwwwwww
Guest wnoortman
it really annoys me the way that the whole world seems to think that Noosephere are X-Dream!! look in the cover and you'll see two names that ARE NOT Marcus C Maichel or Jan Muller(although Marcus collaborates)!! just by listening to it it's obvious that it isn't X-Dream, so why people thought it was is beyond me!! it's still damn good though. Guest eiggib
best songs are: 2,3 and 5,6,7 and 9. VERY good album, i give it 9.5/10 !
Guest mindphase[at]goatrance[dot]com
Noosphere are Niels and Eberhard, two really nice guys with a zany sense of humor. Ebe is roomates with Marcus maichel, and apparently they borrow kick samples from x-dream, but i think that's where the comparison ends. They may not be "groundbreaking" but their music has a deep but subtle soul to it which flows along, nourishing your mind as opposed to pounding it or tweaking it. In other words, their personalities are reflected well in their music (but isn't that usually the case?)
Guest Diepeveen
Oh i really like this album... Def. not full on, but very dark, and very psychedelic as most stuff from Twisted... Favpurite tracks: 1,2,3,5,8,9... The rest is okay, but not unforgetable... - 8/
Guest b4u2r1[at]hotmail[dot]com
Great ablbum....Carpe Nortem I was listening to this the other day. This track is from a 1997 blue room release. That would make 4 years old as I wirte this, and sounds like it could have been made today. excellent!
Guest [Anonymous]
Carpe Noctem is the shit. The build to the end is unbelievable.
Guest Pzzt - Neo
I just love Paradigma........ the rest is a bit boring... although it is spacy and diffrent from other things I still think they could have done better
Guest blunted[at]telia[dot]com
Carpe Noctem RULES big time.... an AMAZING track, actually, one of my favoite tracks of all time.... but the rest isn't really that good...I heard Carpe Noctem first on a Goa-Head compilation, then listened to this CD..I was just dissappointed because I wanted the other tracks to be like Carpe Noctem, and they were, but still not close to the magnificence of Carpe Noctem. Guest soma242[at]hotmail[dot]com
I was the primary organizer & promoter of Tribalization, the party that was thrown with Noosphere in Northern California last summer. I picked Noosphere for very specific reasons. this album has been quite pivitol & influential to me as a DJ, Promoter, & all around Psychonaut...as my dear friend Rob mentioned, their music very aptly reflects thier personalities. I **PERSONALLY** find this entire album to be not only groundbreaking, but also vastly psychedelic & inspiring. from the first pulsating measures of Noosleep, Niels & Ebi sculpt & shape soundscapes lush with life & the depth of a thousand souls. thier throbbing basslines & poignant kicks blaze a trail far beyond the outer reaches of known conciousness, throwing in the oddly appropriate sample from time to time just to keep the listener on his/her mental toes, usually producing grins from ear to ear...my personal high points come from More, The Beyond, Carpe Noctum, & 23rd Chromnosome, but the entire album should be given equal play to be put into it's proper perspective. I have truly found that this album above all others makes Psychedelic Trance appealing & inviting to those who would normally not be inclined to partake in it.
