vOrTeXdReAm
One of the best albums ever made. Fat, juicy bass lines and harsh, electronic sound FX spinning from left to right and back again. Hard to understand in the beginning, but nowadays I love it. Every track is top quality stuff. My favourites are "Psychomachine", "Electromagnetic", "Telegram" and "Freak". This will be an infinite classic.

Guest Ubik
Dunno why it took me so long to review this... Everytime I listen to it I enter a parallel universe, this is so hypnotizing. Production is perfect : fat bass, lots of fx, the sound is everywhere. I think they will have trouble to top this My favourites are Electromagnetic, The Frog, and Psychomachine, but the whole album is amazing. 10/
Guest Antic
Overhyped? Quite possibly. Good? Most definitely!!! It's certainly NOT the best psy-trance release ever, but tracks like Radio, Freak, Electromagnetic, Telegram and Psychomachine make this CD well worth buying and place it right in my top10 psy-trance albums. Their style in early 1998 was in fact innovative and fresh and nowadays you can see most of new artists taking lots of their ideas into theirs songs (GMS, HuxFlux etc.). Raw acid samples, stomping drum loops, heavy and fat basses, minimalist drive - all that is here and here is where it all began. All the songs I mentioned above are very good, but still "I can't get no satisfaction" They could've done it way much better. There is a lot of room for improvement: more variation in bass, because it should be funkier (only Freak and Electromagnetic have reasonably good bass - other tracks just go simple "umpa umpa umpa umpa"), more LFO, cutoff and resonance tweaking would also do well, because there is so much of unexplored energy in the tracks (again - only in Radio, Electromagnetic and partially in Telegram they do it properly). And Psychomachine should be much longer ? it ends when it?s really just starting to begin! But somehow, even if those things bother me a little, I still think this is a great CD! The noises they use to create the melodies are soooo sick and psychedelic, the melodies themselves are crazy and the bass... is so tasty and fat! There is maybe not too much progression in the tracks with couple of first listens, but the more you listen to it, the more things you start to hear - those little details make the whole point of this record, so don't even try it on lame headphones or pc-speaker (??? . What is also amazing ? in correspondence to CD-cover, all the tracks are linked as if we were searching radio for another station. I wish we had stations like that here in Poland! All in all I give this CD strong 8.5/10, simply because it?s an all-time classic and really great record. And by the way - The Frog sucks (it?s so simple and boring) and it shouldn?t be there... If it wasn?t for this track, the CD would easily get 9 or even 9.5/10, but?
Guest evv
It's been a while since I listened to this one but now i feel that i have to play it loud. Psychomachine is just soooo heavy and powerfull.
Guest whoruwhoami?
I don't own this album, but I have listened to it on numerous occasions throughout the years since it was released (reading these reviews has inspired me to take yet another listen) I do remeber none of these songs being as good as supercell (Where would I find this song, anyone?), I heard a track of theirs on tsunami, & it was a repeat of this style. As good as this album is, as good as this style is (It's raw emotion, thereis nothing superficial about this style of music, it touches something deep within you now you are carrying yet cannot make tangible, god I wank on!) where do you go from here? Where? It isn't easy to mix if you appreciate alot of different types of trance e.g the Twisted sound, Koxbox, X-Dream, Sweden, etc.
DeathPosture
Like Ubik, I've also been hypnotized everytime I've listened to this album, and that's why it's taken me so long to review this SMASHING album.... Guest ArchNemesis
This album rocks. Psychomachine, my all time X-Dream favorite, can never be replaced. ahhhhh!!!!!
Guest vladox[at]yahoo[dot]com
This album is so hard to find that the only option I had, having completely loved We Created Our Own Happiness, was to download this album from Napster. I tried to pick the best quality possible, that being about 192 kbps, but when I had downloaded it, it sounded like shit!. But hell, everybody was telling that Radio was their best album, so I finally achieved to find it at towerrecords.com (by the way, if you don't have it, it is probably the best time to get it, 'cause they're selling it for $9 Dollars, what a fucking bargain!!!!. Besides, its on low stock, and after they finish their stock, I think it will be impossible to find anywhere, 'cause its out of print). Well, anyway, I got it just yesterday, and I must say that the CD version has the best fucking sounds I have ever heard!!!, It is so well produced. Now i understand why a lot of people consider this THE best psy-trance album ever. Besides that, it proves that psy-trance tracks sound SO shity on MP3, that it is a crime to hear them on that format, even if it is at 192 kbps. SO HURRY, GO BUY THIS CD, NOW!!!! Guest Too bad, too late...
I listened to it when it was released in common shops. It sounded like Techno at first hearing, so I didn't buy it. After reading all of the above comments, I regret it for sure !! :-/
Guest [Anonymous]
X-DREAM is the best !!!!!
Jon Cocco
I JUST GOT THIS CD IN TODAY and WHAT A CD! I HAD HEARD X-DREAM BEFORE ON COMPILATIONS, but never was impressed to the extent of WoW, until now. IT'S SO DARK, PSYCHEDELIC, DEEP,WILD, REVOLUTIONARY, and NOT-AT-ALL-MINIMAL. This is much better then their newer stuff. THIS cd, 3 PLUS years later still sounds MUCH better then 99% of the GOA out there, and I'm not even gonna include the minimal-psy, repetitive shit thats been flooding the scene, cause thatS NOT goa! It's just called that as an excuse to call it something. Forget about it. Im getting off subject. X-DREAM-Radio is FUCKING UNREAL! Yes, It's up there with a very short list of extremely ambitious others. (Hallucinogen, Infected Mushroom, etc) HOWEVER, I AM SORRY TO SAY THAT this new wave of minimal shit seems to be taking over all that made Goa music unique. Things don't seem to be original anymore. All in all, this cd is one of the last of the finest, and if you still don't own it I suggest that you buy it 'IF' you can find it.- AND THATS NO FUCKING PROMO SENTENCE BECAUSE THIS CD IS TRULY WORTH EVERY PENNY.////////// my score = (not yet) i won't assume, but wait until it further grows on me, but i already KNOW I love it! Guest NFalke666[at]aol[dot]com
this is not goa... this is totally minimalistic... This is true morning trance... and this is one of the greatest albums ever made!!! 10/10 if you like this, listen to The Delta (dark as all hell), and Children of Paradise... nothing like it... Let us welcome the Dark Morning!!!
Guest Zeitti
This isn't melodic, but it isn't minimal either. It's something from between, and the style rules! Great stuff, all the tracks! Rating 8/10.

Guest Renyones
you wouldn't take notice of Children. Because in my opinion it's a 9/10 album. But judge yourself
Lemmiwinks
Hmmm...so here are the minimalist masters, the guys who started it all. A few months ago I would've personally shot these guys for killing the whole goa scene, but minimalstic psy eventually grew on me, like it had on so many people out there... Well, some of is good, but I couldn't possibly listen to the whole album at once, because it's always the same!! Still, Freak is very good, and there's another one I like, with some frog samples, but I forget which one it is. The best minimal album I've listened to so far, so I'll give it 8/10 for that. Guest liszu[at]interia[dot]pl
Oh Humanity!!!! If You understand that FREAK is the best, then You will can to say :"I understand X-Dream". But TELEGRAM and OUT OF YOUR CONTROLL are masterpiece. RADIO album is a best album all the time in underground trance music. To TEAUILA (maybe TEQUILA) : where are melodies? they are in Astral Projection music. But You can't find there anything else!!!!
schism
I don't know why i'm even reviewing this again but i still play it everyonce in awhile...and its the best CD ever. 10/10 in audio quality, sonic manipulation and track structure! this is pretty much the perfect cd. THE FROG is the best track ever! So wicked, so dark, so chilling. Also very cool are Telegram, Psychomachine and Electromagnetic. The ending two tracks are the "worst" but they are still great. The first two tracks are kinda similar. So it starts slow, picks up heavily and ends slowly. Perfect for night music. Nice chunky basslines. My all time favorite CD and I absolutely hate monotonous minimal shit (which this isn't, but it probably started the trend)...

Guest Le Lotus Bleu
I was expecting lots of melodix tracks and i was a bit surprise at listening this album. But after all, Radio is a good album. My favourite track is Freak. Weakest tracks 5 and 8. This album has a darker atmosphere and sounds harder than previous releases of x dream. rating :7/
