Insejn
Bamboo Forest - Random Future Artist: Bamboo Forest Title: Random Future Label: Flying Rhino Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Home Boys 02. Dump It 03. Melting Pot 04. Random Future 05. Infinity 06. Tomorrow I Will Quit 07. Joystick 08. Tilt 09. The Walk Review: Good ol' Bamboo Forest out with an execellent album. Typical BF style with drums and that you-know-what-noise The melodies is good but in some tracks there is few of them. Too bad. In track number 4 there is a vocal sample in the beginnen which is too obviously looped several times. But this track has the most noisy type of sounds on the album imo And it is so beautiful arranged. Last track is slow. Still good. You like BF? You'll like this! Final Verdict: 8/
Guest Rx7style
I REALLY enjoy Bamboo Forest. With the exception of a few EP's, I've enjoyed pretty much every one of their tracks. The sound quality is always superb, the tonal extension is remarkable at times, and I'm usually positively invigorated when I hear these tracks. With the exception of "Tomorrow I Will Quit" and "Random Future" being exactly the same as "Bypass" and "Spektral" from their EP release, I think all tracks are new. If you've liked ANY of the prior releases from these French masters of hard, pounding, melodic killers, grab this new album as it's more of the same – and the same is what works! I don't expect getting tired of this wonderful sound from Yann Hénaff and Stéphane Durisseix any time soon, as it's always uniquely discernable from others! Great work deserves a 9.5/10!!!!!! Guest Slave2rave
What a nice album here. At first i wasn't liking it at all. Maybe it was just my mood, but the first and second tracks were waaay to irritating for me. But as i said, i have to give a further listen to it. The third track, Melting Pot, began to change my mind about the whole album. After that, Random Future, with that repeated but nice sample got me totally into the bamboo mood. Infinity is another stomping track, with a nice sample of a guy shouting in a strange way (that echo effect adds a lot to that sample). T6 is bit more atmospheric than the others, worked a lot on me. T7 is also a very nice track, with american indians' shouts, well produced. T8 - Another atmospheric track - what a nice beginning! Really drives you into a light mood. The melody that begins at 1:20 makes me wanna fly. This weekend i went to a wonderful rave nearby, and as i was coming near, i heard this melody coming softly through the trees, as the night was turning into day. It's these kind of sensations you never forget. T9 is a soft ambient track, with funky beats. Very nice closing to this excellent album. My favorite tracks are 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. Deserves a solid 9/10. Excellent work!
seraph
This is pretty good deep tribal psychedelic trance with funky touch...If you like this kind of trance you'd like this album very much.I personnaly like more Goa Trance, Old School and Psychedelia but this one is rather fine...It has smooth bass lines, few nice melodies and very good production.Maybe sometimes do tend to sound a bit too progressive...Best Tracks : MELTING POT, RANDOM FUTURE, INFINITY, TOMORROW I WILL QUIT, TILT...7.5/
