That doesn't mean this album is bad, but it's not unforgetable ... Rating : 3.5/
Guest adp028[at]mail[dot]usask[dot]ca
This album kicks ass in style. Many favorites on this album, but I'd have to say that Freakshow takes the cake. Cydonia is some pretty fucking brilliant trance.
Guest goatrancer
well what can i say a brilliant album all traxs are really good cydonia can really produce some weird beats too bad that trax number 2 is too short it is the best trax in this! best traxs:haunted world, why?,freakshow
Guest vm[at]alphatrance[dot]org
Awesome album! Hard, fast, pounding, dark, melodic, very danceable. Perfect for the early morning hours, to shake off the psychedelic insanity and get ready for the sunrise. Great composition, awesome production, crisp sound. And the kick! the kick! I don't think I can point out a single bad track on this one. Favourites: "Columbian Necktie" (which is actually a remix of a Front Line Assembly track), "Mindhunter" (remixed by Tim Schuldt), "Freak Show", "Lightning Rods". Oh yes, and if you ever get a chance to hear them live, by all means do it. One of the best live acts in existence. And Dino Psaras plays one hell of a DJ set, as well. Guest here[at]coldmail[dot]com
cool sounds and pruduction yet those melodies are what?.. 2, 3 years old and come directly from goa. How can something be psychedelic when one has heard it b4.
freak51
*** If you like this record, PLEASE DON'T READ ANY MORE OF THIS COMMENT. I don't want to ruin it for you. *** I can't shake the thought as I listen to this that it could be a movie soundtrack. I don't like the orchestral backgrounds this bunch uses. Once I realized this I stopped liking the record. I wish I could go back there, because I really liked it then. Especially the tricks at the end of Animal People, where they pitch-bend the melody in the foreground, pressing the mind into the brainpan. Guest Stathis_gti
I thing this is a fucking AWESOM cd.All the tracks are killers, the style is very good and the production is superb. If i had to say which is the best..i would say..'mind hunter' in this very good remix by Tim Shuldt...Rate+9,5/
mars
Strange: when I first listened to this album, I flashed immediately on Mindhunter and Ligntning Rods. they are awesome And made me groovy immediately. Of course, Colombian Necktie And Freakshow are good also, but they were cooked too long...well it's a pretty good album, but that's not what I expected from Cydonia. Like Max, I think it's tooooo...light. Moreover this CD is hard to find. 4.5/
Guest Tequila
I like this CD very much.it simply kicks ass. Mindhunter and freakshow are two killer track, and justify by themselves the buy of the album.Fortunatly, there are not only these two tracks, all the rest of the album is pure, beautiful, brillant, magic.that's a powerful and melodic kinda goatrance.8/
Anoebis
One of my better CD's... The tracks are overall good, but only 1 track stands out for me and that's Colombian Necktie (originally made by FLA.)!! That track is soo dark, twisted and hard, and it still grows on me!! )) Other good songs are 1,5,7&8!! 7,5/10 Bom Shankar
Guest F-AcTivE
MMm'kay , let's see ... There is some cool twisted sounds here , and i like the orchestral background sounds ..............BUT ! Infeced MAx is right about one thing:"Everything seems like Coca Cola "light" here" , there is no power in the tracks ! I didn't like this... 3/
Guest zilion[at]goatrance[dot]com
No doubt does not exist of that this cd is one of the best composite workmanships in the world of the eletronic music. They are great musicians, had created a style of goatrance that it goes beyond the one who we creating as future. Today, we can look at a technological future on another one side listening cydonia. BRILLIANT Colombian Necktie(remix) without doubts is the biggest composite workmanship already in the universe of the trance music. my e-mail (zilion@goatrance.com)
Guest Ubik
I only got this recently and I was pleasantly suprised Dark atmosphere over the whole album and all tracks are modern yet melodic. The long orchestral intros to the songs are very cool, too. Standout tracks are Columbiann Necktie and Mindhunter rmx (with those big Tim Schuldt Guitares , but the rest is not far. 8.5/
Guest squid[at]born-on-a-pirate-ship[d
i like the whole thing... its not the hardest album ever, but it is certainly dark, and i have nooo clue where this diet coke analogy comes from. maybe it doesn't have the phatness of modern dark styles but thats cuz its a little old by now! great stuff nonetheless, full of interesting sounds that go well, and the beats are all chunka-chunka-chunka-chunka.. they fit right together. i know if i was on a dancefloor these tunes would be playing me like a marionette.. 8/
Guest civ604
I didn't actually dig it in the first 3 listens. It seemed to me like having no direction noise. But later on I gave it another try... And it works, now! I'am familiar with asset of Front Line Assembly into the world of Music, sooth-to-say, I liked it a lot. This album has its influence all over it - but brings all those deep futuristic emotions in a whole different way - on the wings of goa-trance! That is idea I like, it's fresh and proven to be successful. And If you have problem with those movie-like samples here -- listen to FLA! Overall rating: 7,5/10, the present time! Tchankov I.V. Guest joemrmeat[at]hotmail[dot]com
I'm not particulary impress by this album. The sounds are too classy, and the tracks play a while before variations. The remix of culumbian necti is excelent, but the other traxs...?!...6.5/
Guest kadafi
My god this album is a killer of the dark kind! Guest Rabbitakis[at]hotmail[dot]com
KILLER ALBUM .... KILLER KILLER KILLER ! Mind Hunter is one of the wildest tracks of the album (ta spaei diladh!).These album is dark and has a Killer instict it is far away from minimalistic sounds , it is psycho !!What we can say for those they say it is "light"....Ignore them ...Dino psaras always has been a DanceKiller producer from the "Phreaky" days... Watch out for any "Tortured Brain" tracks there are more aggresive and more psychotic than cydonia tracks.. These album deserves a 10 .. but 10 is only for x-dream so 9.. Guest cymeth[at]shpongle[dot]com
In fear of a red planet rocks, in big ways. Dark and hard. This guy has a smooth style somewhat alike hallucinogen and oforia. Lightning rods, cactus and columbian necktie
Guest K
Excellent ! Some melodies are indeed a bit simple, but overall what a powerful album ! Best track : Columbian Necktie. Rating : 9/10.

Drosophila
Great album, the atmosphere is so deep and dusky... And after around 8 years this still sounds so fricking nice... this is imho a dark masterpiece! I can't sit still in my chair when I listen too it! I remember I bought this because I had heard Colombian Necktie, but so many other tracks has hight quality here such as Haunted World, Why?, Mindhunter, Animal People, Freakshow, Lightning Rods, oh well thats almost all of them... ahh and then there are the slow pearl at the end Narco Nympho... what a great way to end it! Trance2MoveU
Artist: Cydonia Title: In Fear of a Red Planet Label: Blue Room Released Date: 1999 1. Haunted World 2. Why? 3. Colombian Necktie 4. Cactus 5. Mindhunter 6. Animal People 7. Freakshow 8. Lightning Rods 9. Narco Nympho Why the hell isn't this exalted right up there with the greats? Some of the previous reviewers complained that this had no power. Must've been an embarrassment of riches in 1999. This thing is f*cking stacked! Imagine UX and FLA together. You'd have to because as far as I know it has never happened. But that's what it sounds like. Industrial goa trance that is psychedelic as hell. Eerie sounds coupled with symphonic textures make this a dark lovers wet dream. This is falling down the Mines of Moria while doing battle with the Bal Roc. Haunted World rips acid lines up and down the night sky and Why? is a crunchy treat that weighs on you like a school bus. Colombian Necktie is one of my all time favorites with all of the ingredients mentioned above. If you like Front Line Assembly, you will love this.Mindhunter displays alien footfalls before it assaults you with a wall of guitars and a tension filled atmosphere. Animal People bubbles with purpose as symphonic strings float above throaty leads. So deep and lush and wickedly dark. It's like if my flash drive turned into a decepticon and stole all my porn. Yeah, there's an app for that you f*cking bastard. And the hits keep coming with Freakshow and I would swear that we never left the nineties. Goa son! Goa! The climax is a bit of electronic nastiness that sears the skin. Lightning rods goes heavy on the cyber tones and I plunge into the Matrix father of two style!"No one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself" So the matrix is f*cking legoland with an admission? Narco Nympho is the techno heavy mid tempo track that wasn't bad as a closer. Man I had forgotten how good this was. I believe this is a classic that fits well with UX and Crop Circles. Highly recommended.Beatspace Digital DownloadGoa StoreAvatar RecordsMdk
